Ditto what ^^^^ said. For the money is seems like a great scope so far but I've only done about 600rds through it. Also the turrets dial it back and forth consistently as I go back and forth between 25 and 100 yards (36 clicks) and it returns to the same point each time.

I **think** Buds has the FV-SR in stock right now - at least the website will let you buy now on the item.

Just a heads up for those that are waiting for Boyd's to get the Tacticool in stock - go ahead and "backorder" it. I backordered mine on April 26th, it shipped from them today, and scheduled delivery if May 8th. Their status of "will ship in 2-3 weeks from date of order" is an over-estimation on their part, right now - which is far better than being longer than their quote.
All my orders were on April 25th and 26th - the Nikon .22LR BDC 3-9 scope came in on the 27th, the FV-SR from Bud's came in yesterday to the FFL and I picked it up today, the DIP bottom metal and trigger guard got here in 2 days, stock comes soon, and I had a set of scope rings laying around. Still need to order some Aluma-Hyde II to paint everything, but that will probably get here before the stock does. Gonna be fun. |

My Tacticool Stock arrived today, it looks very nice.
For anyone who bought a Nikon Prostaff Rimfire Scope in the last 30 days, don't forget about the $50 mail in rebate. |

Haters gonna hate. Picked up a recent production mark 2F accu trigger, bone stock with a 10 rd mag in it for $100 OTD! Local pawn shop. I'll shoot it this weekend. 20 inch barrel. Standard profile.
More than accurate. It was a dream with irons. |

OK...the guy who apparently has a reading comprehension problem needs some help.
I bought the FV-SR .22LR. I bought the Boyd's Tacticool Stock. I bought the DIP Trigger Guard (fits fine, no problem) and the DIP Bottom Metal Action Screw "Kit" for plastic stocks (#13024.) Neither the original bottom metal nor the new DIP Bottom Metal fit in the "slot" in the Boyd's Tacticool stock. Did I order the wrong kit? Which one do I need? Many thanks in advance for your assistance. |

Unfortunately, I screwed up and ordered them separately a few weeks ago. I just ordered the "'E' Receiver Bottom Metal for wood stocks" (#13014) to replace the #13015 I apparently ordered in error. |

That should get you going - just got my stock today, and the DIP parts I ordered fit like a glove. I'll dig out the part numbers and get them in here.

Here's teh evolution of my Daughter's MKII F. Nothing special, just a bare bones rifle but probably the best $100 I've ever spent on a gun. Way more accurate than I thought it would be and a great gun for teaching a youngster. Unfortunately, she is a lefty so now I'm looking for a reasonably priced left handed gun for her.
Here's how it looked the day we brought it home from wally world.
my little sniper
It didn't take long before she decided she wanted it painted. She was going through a " blue and tan " phase at the time.
Then I saw a tutorial on ARFCOM about the sponge technique so I gave it a shot.
But now I've decided to pass it along to my son so it just got a new coat of Krylon in OD green and black. Need to add some tan grass outlines to make it complete.
I love this gun. I have a feeling that 50 years from now the MKII line of rifles is going to be in the same category as the 10/22 and the model 60. Cheap, reliable guns that just about everybody owns. One more pic of the daughter. She has decided that she now loves the 15-22. This is a problem since that is now MY favorite gun.

Humbug!
I shoot southpaw and I use both RH and LH actions. Whats more Savage makes the perfect gun for her - The Mark II GLY - In stock now @ Buds Guns I have the Mark II GL with AccuTrigger and even without the Heavy barrel its a real tack driver. I like it better than my FVSR because the whole fit and finish was of a dramatically higher quality. If they had the Mark II GL in stock I would order a second one to built up Tacticool. I may even make up some of the 20 & 25 MOA scope mount rails for the left hand receiver. |

I put the Tacticool stock on my FV-SR this weekend and I am thrilled with it. I also installed the DI Products bottom metal and trigger guard. My only complaint about the FV-SR was the stock, and the Tacticool stock completely solves that issue. I was thinking about getting a TRR-SR also, but now I think I will just get a second FV-SR and another Tacticool stock. That will be cheaper than the TRR-SR and give me the handy 16.5" barrel. I've been very impressed with the accuracy of the FV-SR and I don't think an extra 6" or so of barrel will do anything for me shooting .22 LR.
I waited about two weeks for my Tacticool stock after placing the order, and it was worth the wait. |

Just finished painting mine. Did the stock last Friday night, let it set, and shot it on Sunday. After getting back from the range, I painted the receiver and barrel, scope, and scope rings. Have to let it set and cure for a few more days, but it turned out just the way I wanted.
Here's just the stock (and DIP bottom metal) painted, with the receiver, barrel, scope, etc, still black.
All the metal painted. Dry enough to assemble, but still needs to cure:
FV-SR, Tacticool, Nikon 150 BDC 3-9x40 in Warne Maxima steel low rings. Vickers Mk 1 sling. Aervoe paint in various colors. The metal parts are all "Light Coyote." |

Wooden toothpicks. Snap off a couple sections that are just long enough to go into the screw hole. Put in a couple pieces. Put the screw back in there. Works like a charm. |

Cheap and simple, I've done that before. For my Tacticool, though, since I was bedding my stock I just filled the stripped hole w/ bedding compound (Devcon plastic steel epoxy) and redrilled it once it cured; Perfect! |
