What would be "too big" in terms of wearing a plate carrier? I have a great plate carrier that I bought used at a great price: an Eagle Industries CIRAS plate carrier. It's an XL. I am 6' 240lbs. When I wear it with steel plates it fits snug around the middle, in fact I don't even feel it weighing down on my shoulders. I can definitely "lift" it up to be higher on my chest, but at rest it feels like the top of the plate is just under the collar bone. If I could get it a little higher I could wear a good size war belt. I'm having a hard time finding a used large plate carrier of decent quality and price locally, so I'm wondering if there is any way to make this one work.
