I make a point of insulating and then covering all the drinking tubes on my hydration gear. I have a lot of such. Consequently, I've been buying tube insulators and tube covers from
Hydrationtubecovers.com for a long time
The reason for doing so is that
uninsulated drinking tubes are the main source of your drinking water heating up in hot weather, and freezing in cold weather. Insulating the tube provides obvious temp stabilization benefits, and covering the thin neoprene insulator adds some solar and physical protection as well as having choices in camo/color. FWIW, I make a point of insulating AND covering all drinking tubes. It stinks to be really hot and thirsty, and then get a mouthful of water that's been solar-heated while it rested within the uninsulated and uncovered drinking tube. The tube insulators also provide a small measure of protection against freezing.
Their
older insulators and covers used to be a smaller diameter, and required the user to cut off the Camelbak Hydrolink fitting on one end of the tube in order to install either the insulating sleeve or the cover. The newer versions are a tinch wider in diameter, and slip over the Hydrolink fitting, so the it is unnecessary to cut off and reinstall the Hydrolink fitting. Same goes for most other brand drinking tubes.
Well, I had a bunch of older insulators and covers. I needed to insulate and cover the tubes on 3 Chem/Bio reservoirs whose Hydrolink fittings are crimped-on. Hmmmmmmm.
I E-mailed Hydrationtubecovers, and explained my problem. Even though it was outside the parameters of their customary, reasonable, and stated return policy, they agreed to exchange, on a 1-to-1 basis all the older insulators and covers I sent to them I paid shipping to them, and despite my offer to pay shipping to me, they sent the exchanged items on their dime.
In my book, this is "above and beyond" Customer Service, and I thought I'd mention it.
