I have my cart with two 4sas7 Large sapi plates in it and my cursor is just hovering over the place order button. Expensive Monday but $366.40 is not to bad for two of these plates.

Edit: I ordered

was close to pulling the trigger on this but i'm hesitating due to the 10x12 size. there's a disclaimer there that says the 10x12 size is not really 10x12. another thread somewhere said the actual measurement is something like 9.3"x11.3". so the issue is 1) i'm concerned about the extra space and having the plates swim around in the carrier and 2) not really getting what you're paying for. it seems every other plate out there measures 10x12 when it says its 10x12

Then buy the larger/heavier SAPI cut plates.

Are you hesitant about buying a  McD's 1/4 lber ( before cooking) since it doesn't weigh 1/4lb after the water has been cooked out.

Are you hesitant about buy a el cheapo 4 x 8 blue tarp that doesn't measure 4 x 8 after the edges are rolled over and stitched

i mean i'm not potentially relying on a quarter pounder to save my life. an inch here an inch there makes a difference, especially when there are no such shortcomings that i've been able to find with any other plate manufacturer. not sure why highcom comes up short

Thanks OP. Been looking to add armor to my toolbox. Ordered Some SAPI L III/IV plates.

Update: I lied. Cancelled the Highcom and ordered Hesco 4400 SAPI L plates. Stand-Alone Level IV, same size but .050" thicker and .5lb heavier. However, saved $550 by not requiring a IIIA backer to be Level IV.

This is a legitimate concern IMO. One of these plates in a SAPI size plate bag leaves plenty of room for that thing to move around. The 4SAS7 10x12 measure 9.5x11.5.

Or buy a plate carrier sized for these plates.

Or bar tack the plate carrier pocket for proper fit.

That is what I ordered, I've always heard it is a little more comfortable.

On another note, got an email saying my plates shipped yesterday and will be arriving today. Free overnight shipping, not bad.

Yes.  Ultimately, it depends on your body shape.  A flat back/flat front can get away with a single curve.  I have a pair of single curves from the SKD group buy and let's just say that I don't have a flat front!  They are comfortable, but the plate is a few inches away from the top of my chest.  I'm taking the opportunity to order a pair of 4SAS7 multi-curves.  I plan on running a multi-curve in front and a single curve in back.

I'm thinking I'll just spend a few extra bucks and get the 4S17M SAPI size plates instead to get a ten year warranty instead of five.  The weight is the same according to their charts.

They are about .20 inches thicker, so make sure the plate carrier you have or intend to use can handle such a thick plate.
