Ares Armor/AWC is all but kaput. I wouldn't be sending them any money anytime soon.

This man speaks the truth. I am out $50 for ordering one of their husky slinks from them back in March of this year. If you Google them you can find out there are probably hundreds of people that are out a lot more money than me also, They are very blatant about it and still posting stuff up on their Facebook page like nothing ever happened.

Several of us had tried posting on their Facebook page as a last resort to get some kind of correspondence from them and all they did was block you from being able to post.

Unfortunately I was stupid enough to let it go past the 60 day Mark and can no longer do a chargeback on my credit card. Of course they also know this and what they do is email you back telling you that your product will be there by the end of the month keeping you at bay until the 60 days are up. The people that are now running this company should be in jail and are scum of the lowest form.

There are people that bought complete uppers off of them for quite a bit of money that are pretty much SOL.

I am wondering who I can contact out in California to turn the scumbags in?

Real class act this company has become. Maybe the ATF should have thrown them all in jail.

Ok,
I see what a plate carrier silencer is.

But what in the blue-fuck-actual, circumstance would anyone require such a thing?

Seriously, if I'm wrong in my questioning and or out of my league, please let me know.

It allows you to put on your plate carrier without having to mess with the large front velcro flap. Instead of lifting up that flap that all your pouches are mounted on, you place the main piece of the silencer under the velcro and now you can use the fastex buckles to connect the front plate to the cummerbund.

For the OP, I wasn't able to find any in stock ares PC silencers but a pricey alternative is the First Spear tube system: retrofit cummerbund

Gotcha.
I read your first sentence and FS Tubes came immediately to mind. I guess the "silencer" thing threw me off.

I take a Crye JPC on and off at work regularly and, and if a skeletal cummerbund/Tubes system existed, I'd be all over it.

Well this thread explains why mine though la police gear is still on back order.

There's nothing really complicated about these things, what are the possibilities of getting someone to make them maybe even using  metal hardware for better durability?

There is some weird website that says they have them but they say 6 weeks shipping it some shit. Plus they changed website names so I'm sure it's a scam.

I really want one of these. Annoying no one has any

well SKD had the clips on sale for a $1.00 - http://www.skdtac.com/ITW-Classic-SR-Split-Bar-1-5-p/itw.211.htm.  I'm going to see about getting some velcro and 1.5" nylon.  Then head off to a taylor or someone that can handle some basic sewing to see what I can come up with.

If anyone has any sources for the nylon or velcro, let me know.  These shouldn't be that difficult to produce and I'm sure some job shop in china cranks these things out for $5 or less in quantities.

Found 4" velcro here http://www.industrialwebbing.com/velcro-brand-sew-on-tape-4-x-25-yards/ or http://hookandloop.com/products?category=3&width=325%2C327&colors_available=102

Where do I get some nylon and what kind?

This turned out pretty well except for the seamstress/tailor charging me $26 to stitch it together.  I'm going to hang some mags off the cummerbund and then hang the carrier in the garage for a few days to see how well the straps hold up.

Rockywoods.com for mil spec webbing and velcro by the yard.

You want 2" 17337-spec webbing for base pad, this is the latest Style 3220 NIR solution-dyed spec webbing, it is more expensive than regular 17337-spec $1.57/yd vs $1.19/yd, I cut this one from their catalog since it has several color choices vs having to cut n paste the individual 2" nylon colored webbings:

http://www.rockywoods.com/Fabrics-Kits/Military-Hardware/2-Solution-Dyed-Nylon-Webbing

http://www.rockywoods.com/Fabrics-Kits/Military-Hardware/2-Nylon-Webbing

1" AA-55301-spec webbing for the cinchers (17337 is sometimes too slick/thin, may slip loose during movement unless you tape it) $0.90/yd

http://www.rockywoods.com/Fabrics-Kits/Military-Hardware/1-Nylon-Webbing

http://www.rockywoods.com/Fabrics-Kits/Military-Hardware/Heavy-1-Nylon-Webbing-Coyote-Tan

or ; Style 3220 NIR Invista Webbing, more expensive but it has a duller, rougher texture almost like the WWII and Vietnam cotton canvas webbings, grips the buckle better $1.00/yd:

http://www.rockywoods.com/Fabrics-Kits/Military-Hardware/1-Solution-Dyed-Nylon-Webbing

You can even do it in 1" 2-sided print Multicam webbing:

http://www.rockywoods.com/Fabrics-Kits/Military-Hardware/1-Solution-Dyed-Nylon-Webbing-MultiCam-2-sided-printed

1" GTSR ITW Nexus Side Release Buckle, $0.85each, they don't have the pre-slotted repair buckle so you have to use a soldering iron to melt an angled slot onto the female side's crossbar

http://www.rockywoods.com/Fabrics-Kits/Military-Hardware/Nexus-1-Side-Release-Buckles-Tan499

2" Velcro Loop Fastener $1.89/yd:

http://www.rockywoods.com/Fabrics-Kits/Military-Hardware/2-Mil-Spec-Tape-Fastener-Loop

or for the official Multicam-match, Tan499 $2.37/yd:

http://www.rockywoods.com/Fabrics-Kits/Military-Hardware/2-Inch-Sew-on-Tape-Fastener-Loop-Tan499

2: Velcro Hook Fastener $1.89/yd:

http://www.rockywoods.com/Fabrics-Kits/Military-Hardware/2-Mil-Spec-Tape-Fastener-Hook

or for the official Multicam-match, Tan499 $2.37/yd:

http://www.rockywoods.com/Fabrics-Kits/Military-Hardware/2-Inch-Sew-on-Tape-Fastener-Hook-Tan499

Then you use the leftover 2" loop in 2each 2" x 6-7" long strips to stick to your Cbund's hook velcro backside or buy 4" wide loop at $2.84/yd, but serves same purpose.

So, for about $8 plus shipping, then paying your local Schuster or seamstress to sew it, the AA-55301 plus the 17337 and two layers of velcro might be too much for your HH6's home sewing machine.

This is so you can order everything from one source instead of paying $5-10 twice for the repair buckles from one source and the webbing and velcro from another, usually can fit what you need in the Small Priority Mail Flat Rate Box for $6.80 and have it within 3 days.

Ranger Green, fixed:

Olive/Camo Green 483, cinchable:

The problem with metal buckles on a plate/armor carrier is it adds a possibility of spall and secondary projectiles in areas where there is usually no armor coverage. (In the armor gap).

More info? I see it's DRG, but I've never seen it.

I think it's a custom service, you need to your CB to them.  Saw it on LF a while back.
