well SKD had the clips on sale for a $1.00 - http://www.skdtac.com/ITW-Classic-SR-Split-Bar-1-5-p/itw.211.htm. I'm going to see about getting some velcro and 1.5" nylon. Then head off to a taylor or someone that can handle some basic sewing to see what I can come up with.
If anyone has any sources for the nylon or velcro, let me know. These shouldn't be that difficult to produce and I'm sure some job shop in china cranks these things out for $5 or less in quantities.
Found 4" velcro here http://www.industrialwebbing.com/velcro-brand-sew-on-tape-4-x-25-yards/ or http://hookandloop.com/products?category=3&width=325%2C327&colors_available=102
Where do I get some nylon and what kind?

Rockywoods.com for mil spec webbing and velcro by the yard.
You want 2" 17337-spec webbing for base pad, this is the latest Style 3220 NIR solution-dyed spec webbing, it is more expensive than regular 17337-spec $1.57/yd vs $1.19/yd, I cut this one from their catalog since it has several color choices vs having to cut n paste the individual 2" nylon colored webbings:

1" AA-55301-spec webbing for the cinchers (17337 is sometimes too slick/thin, may slip loose during movement unless you tape it) $0.90/yd

or ; Style 3220 NIR Invista Webbing, more expensive but it has a duller, rougher texture almost like the WWII and Vietnam cotton canvas webbings, grips the buckle better $1.00/yd:

You can even do it in 1" 2-sided print Multicam webbing:

1" GTSR ITW Nexus Side Release Buckle, $0.85each, they don't have the pre-slotted repair buckle so you have to use a soldering iron to melt an angled slot onto the female side's crossbar
http://www.rockywoods.com/Fabrics-Kits/Military-Hardware/Nexus-1-Side-Release-Buckles-Tan499
2" Velcro Loop Fastener $1.89/yd:
http://www.rockywoods.com/Fabrics-Kits/Military-Hardware/2-Mil-Spec-Tape-Fastener-Loop
or for the official Multicam-match, Tan499 $2.37/yd:
http://www.rockywoods.com/Fabrics-Kits/Military-Hardware/2-Inch-Sew-on-Tape-Fastener-Loop-Tan499
2: Velcro Hook Fastener $1.89/yd:

or for the official Multicam-match, Tan499 $2.37/yd:

Then you use the leftover 2" loop in 2each 2" x 6-7" long strips to stick to your Cbund's hook velcro backside or buy 4" wide loop at $2.84/yd, but serves same purpose.
So, for about $8 plus shipping, then paying your local Schuster or seamstress to sew it, the AA-55301 plus the 17337 and two layers of velcro might be too much for your HH6's home sewing machine.
This is so you can order everything from one source instead of paying $5-10 twice for the repair buckles from one source and the webbing and velcro from another, usually can fit what you need in the Small Priority Mail Flat Rate Box for $6.80 and have it within 3 days.
