I plan on taking a couple of carbine courses this summer and would like to have a decent chest rig. Is it worth my money to try a Condor MCR5 rig or would a Haley D3CR be better in the long run. I know I may not be comparing apples to apples, or would you guys recommend some other brand. I am open to any and all suggestions.

You can snag a PIG chestrig for a budget-friendly price and figure out how you want to run things. SKD is also doing 10% off, so that's another bonus.

Made in USA and will most likely last you longer than that Condor will.

I will take a look at that one. The biggest problem I have read about the Condor as well as the Pig is the cross over straps being irritating, so some have recommended the H straps such as on the Haley.

There is a H-harness adapter you can buy for the UCR

One you start adding pouches and a new harness the price advantage disappears.

I'd skip over the condor entirely. Their stuff is heavy and poorly built.

Personally I really like my D3CR. It's not prefect but it's light and very versatile. I did a write up here:

I tried your link, but it won't work. Unless I am doing something wrong.

I just got in my Blue Force Gear RACKMinus. It weighs the same as one of my Tactical Tailor AR mag pouches and the harness is great. I have two BFG double SR25 mag pouches on it for my FALs.

Personally I'd skip the Haley (not that its not a good rig, it just wasn't right for me) and get a Mayflower RC rig of some sort, probably the UW Gen IV. Just enough space for everything you need and extremely well built.

I have the Haley d3cr-h, I absolutely love it. I have the inserts so it fits 5.56 nice and snug and the layout of the pouches works better for me. The large pouch fits everything from my issued ifak and then the other pouch holds a gps perfectly. I wouldn't hesitate on the Haley rig, but I personally like the pouches on the heavy over the smaller rig with the stuff it pouch.

The SKD Pig, Haley D3, or anything by Mayflower would be a good purchase.

Im looking at getting a Condor Outdoor MCR7 split front chest rig to build up for a light weight option to either use with my ARs or add it to my hi-point 4595 truck gun.

Im low speed high drag so the limited use I plan on putting any gear I buy through condor should work just fine.

I've made my own lower profile type and currently have a couple laying around that I've made. Good quality materials, decent price.

I have an Esstac Daedon. I highly recommend this plate carrier. I wanted something that was kind of minimalist, allows for a tight comfortable fit, and won't restrict my movement. The daedon was perfect for me. I'd say if you have the coin, check it out. It's not expensive as far as plate carriers go, but it's also not $70 on Amazon. I ordered from the Esstac site directly. Took only about a week to get to me. The stitching and quality is second to none. Seriously.

Ares Armor Atalanta Slim is probably price/quality between those two. I have one and love it.
