Would like to get these for Level 3+ protection. SAPI are more $$$ and weight. Is the multicurve really advantageous vs single curve in such a light plate? Also I am 40 chest measurement, weight 170 lbs and 5' 7" height. Can I go smaller with 8x10" plates? My SAPI size would be S or M? Thanks!

Single curve plates are just miserable. Don't even consider getting any plates that are not multi-curve.

I'm no expert but my chest is 38'' and I got medium. I think small or 8x10 would be small for you. If you are getting a plate already, get the cover you need.
Good choice on plates

Truth, I ran Single curve for years, and once I got multi curve, I was like.."What was I thinking all those years"

Multicurve... all the way.
