I have yet to hear any serious and credible complaints about HSGI gear. If they offer what you want/need, buy with confidence.
That said, I do have some small criticisms of their gear. I happen to be one of those folks who prefer full-flapped pouches, and HSGI does not offer same on a non-custom basis. I have been told, of decent authority, that HSGI has, on the drawing boards, templates for flapped pouches, but they have decided that offering such is not currently in their best interest.
That's fine, but it forces people, like me, to look elsewhere. No complaints; there are other very good mfrs who offer what I want.
Another issue is with their TACO mag pouches. I am one of the few who are a bit skeptical about the long-term durability of bungee/shock cord/elastic webbing. Some folks using such in hot, sandy, dusty areas claim that the bungee cord is subject to unusually rapid deterioration, compared to cooler, less abrasive climates. Certainly even under the best of conditions, bungee cord will stretch over time, and will need to be repeatedly re-adjusted until such point where re-adjustment is no longer possible. I figure this is why HSGI offers a re-build kit for their TACO pouches. This is good customer service. But it still is a factor that ought to be considered when contemplating a purchase. As against that, most TACO pouches will fit most any mag. Good thing for folks using various firearms who elect tor a "one size fits all" pouch, but certainly inferior to purpose-designed pouches for each firearm's magazine. Naturally, the latter course is much more expensive, but some of us prefer to have pouches for our various mags that suit out exact requirements. YMMV, and no offense intended.
Again, no complaints about HSGI gear, and they seem to offer adequate replacement/repair items and offer very good quality products.
YMMV, of course.
