I recently got a crossbreed instructor belt with velcro. It's heavy duty and has been great so far. The wife has a regular crossbreed holster belt and it is also top notch.

DSG Arms 1.5" Alpha belt. I can thread it through my belt loops on jeans without taking the buckle off, and it is Kydex reinforced.

Kramer makes very nice ones, but for less money I have the double thick from Savoy Leather that is very nice. I prefer a nice heavy thick leather belt, no frills.

Wilderness Frequent Flyer Belt, 1.75 inch. No fancy smancy buckle, just a belt that has been going strong for years.

For EDC you can't get better than the Ares AEGIS belt.  Forget cobra buckles for EDC, because you don't need that kind of buckle strength and they're a PITA to take on and off your pants due to the fact that you have to disassemble the belt to get it out of your belt loops.

For range work or wearing with a battle belt HSGI 1.75" cobra buckle is worth it.

Giving this another vote. Just got the slim version and its NICE. Not to mention it doesn't have a big fucking buckle to cut into you.

Volund G-hook is what I have used for the last year and a half. It is a nice belt, performs well and it still looks new. I recently purchased a bullhide belt - velcro and its light years more comfortable for those who aren't a bean pole. It's a night and day difference.
