I am trying to decide on a set of BUIS for my new MK18. I use DD fixed front and a BCM (troy) rear flip up on my 14.5 carbine and like that setup, but on my new build i want to avoid using troy products. I like the KAC micros, but also am interested in the LMT L8 flip ups, the rear sight looks very similar but has the dual aperture which i do like to have. The problem is i can literally not find one review on them anywhere online. Has anyone used them? How to they stack up against the KACs?

http://www.lmtstore.com/accessories/l8buis556.html

thanks.

This thread will probably get moved somewhere else. But fwiw these sights are brand new, never seen them in the wild. They look like they're made by KAC honestly.

This.  I'd probably pick up a rear sight for the right price though.

They look really slick I would really like to get more info on them. They are new? I think LMT claimed on their site that these sights are currently being used overseas. The rear sight is what sparked my interest as well. Best of both worlds, low profile of the knight's, dual aperture of the troy.

They are new from LMT- funny thing is that they haven't had then at any of their last trade shows they exhibited at- including last week

Nice they finally are out. LMT could have had something real cool if under 175 but for the same price as KAC, no thanks

OP, I guess you are not hellbent for having everything correct, and that is perfectly cool with me.  I'm about to be in the Mk18 game myself.  That said, if you are looking for small smaller micro style sights, have you checked out the Spikes?  They are about $150 a set, very light, really precise, and great service from a great company.  I'm an LMT fan, but not for that price.  Just thought I'd throw that out.

I'm dying to pull the trigger on one of the rear sights but I can't find any specs or info on them anywhere. Like if they are the same size as the KAC micro or if they are "full" size. I'll probably run these with a DD fixed front.

The KAC Micro and "full size" are both the same height. The micro designation is just for the lighter weight mount. The LMT flip-up rear sight is the same height just like any other rear sight. You won't find any info on them as they were just recently released. I'm sure they are quality being LMT

OK, I'm fixing to eat my words.

I purchased a flip up rear sight from Botach ( I know the hate, but, I've had nothing but good experiences with them on several orders ).
Bought on a sale for between 40-80. Don't remember the price but that range anyway.

Just looked it up full retail and it's 125.

So, I'll try to engage my memory cells before my typing skills.

Which is why I only have a front on one rifle right now

I ended up buying the rear sight, I'm going to run it behind a DD fixed front since that is what I do on all my other rifles. If the rear is sweet maybe I'll try the front. I'll post some pictures when I get it.

I picked up a pair of the Magpul MBUS Pro Sights (Metal not plastic).    They are fantastic and worth the money.   I usually buy Troys when they go on sale, but I figured I would try a set of the newer MBUS Pros.   They are very well built, very low profile, and less expensive than most high end sights.

Troy, and their noncom shooting employees, can get f#cked, in the face, with Ebola.

But we digress. My LMT rear will be here on Halloween
