As the confusing title states; Uf you have any grey gear: PC's 1st line/ 2nd line, clothing, accessories, packs; whatever -- Post em'! It's an emerging colour being produced and I'd like to see if anyone else is starting to switch over to it.

Sweet VOCR

Home-made lo-pro plate carrier:

I also used grey Rit dye to re-color the Magpul furniture on my AR pistol:

That looks awesome! Excellent job on the PC as well; dud you find instructions online?

Also what was the original color for those parts before you dyed them? I'm interested in doing the same.

I did the PC by using my Mayflower APC as a general guide on the specifics and modified the plate pockets to be just big enough for a large SAPI sized plate, and scaled down the cummerbund a bit.  It was a lot of setup and measuring to keep everything lined up, but not too bad really.

For dyeing the Magpul stuff, get the FDE color items first and use them as a base for your dying.  The Foliage can also be used, but they are more scarce and will take the color differently.  Remember that you can only go darker when you dye.  Here is the big Mega thread on dying polymer items from years back.  Lots of good info there.

Grey? Really? Not foliage?
Please tell me it's foliage so I don't have to max my credit card out tomorrow buying another grey piece of gear.....

Great photo btw.

It's foliage hahaha

I'd categorize foliage as grey personally even though the color is usually labelled foliage "green"
And thanks! The Wifey knows how to take a picture or two lol

Great photo

I literally have no grey, either black/tan/mc for day job

But I think grey mixed in with foliage and tan could make an interesting mixture of colors depending on terrain

Cooked up a little hydro carrier/micro pack for the back of my PC.  Holds a 50oz bladder with a bit of wiggle room and has two external pouches for misc items.

Why the grey trend? I know manufacturers are pushing it since its something new to buy, but foliage green already has a greyish tint to it so why bother with grey?  Is there any science behind it?

For me, it matches more of my civi gear and is more low profile (color wise)

It also doesn't contrast with urban backgrounds like black/green.

I'm surprised that given the sheer amount of concrete in urban areas that it has taken this long for there to be efforts to match it.

not really, it takes a long time for the tacticalbandywagon to reflect conceptual thinking beyond most folks noses.

gray works because it does NOT immediately flag as militaristic or does not come across as an "ARMY" color

This is exactly why I like the grey color.  I hate to use the cliche "grey man" reference, but it works as a muted, earth-toney color while not immediately screaming Military or LEO.

Plus with the abundance of tactical fashion with tans and camo proliferating even civilian clothing trends, we gear aficionados have to find something else to stay on the bleeding edge.

A coworker took this of me this morning at the St. Louis Police command center.  While no "gear" is visible, there is some grey.

Champion hoodie and Carhartt green pants.  I like the color combo.
Galco Double Time belt holster with S&W M&P.
Eta:  Just noticed my TT Ranger Green pack is in the pic.

Got a Camelbak Trizip for super cheap on eBay. Put it through daily use, outdoor use, and travel. Absolutely loved it, so the next step was to buy the "real deal". It's definitely my favorite pack if the size is needed. The suspension system Mystery Ranch uses is incredible. One part of the hike I was on, when this picture was taken, I actually forgot I had it on. Maybe it was because I was exhausted, but I think this pack is just that good.
