Sordins. I've got some of the Peltors from Walmart too, and I've actually been pretty pleasantly surprised at how well they've done so far after being repeatedly filled with sweat this summer.

I've had the Howard sport impact muffs for a while and they have been great. After a few years one side microphone went out. I ended up buying the sordin and it has way better sound and noise suppression, worth every penny. The one bad thing I can say about the Howard's is the shape does not work for my head. The squarish ear seals would unseal on my head in some head positions where as the round ones of the sordin no matter whet position my head is they still seal. I suppose the peltor versions priced close to the Howard's would work the same for me.

First pair was the over the head model, and second pair was the under the helmet, low-profile top and back of head model. The latter was only about half off MSRP, and not cheap, either. Had the first pair modded to accept non-GI inputs, see tacked thread atop Gear forum. Newer Sordins had exact same plug as the modded ones wound up with, and both will work with Interface connectors (PTTassys) with my Baofeng ham radios. |
