I have the above plate carrier, but no plates for it. It takes two 10x12 and two 6x6 plates. I've looked at ar500 armor, are they a good choice? I want at least level III protection. |

IMHO, too many sales on quality ceramics to consider ar500.

If youre on a budget AR500 works, but honestly they are very heavy and i highly recommend ceramic. For the same price you can get a pair of SAPI ceramic plates or if you dont mind spending a little more you can upgrade to ESAPI plates which will provide protection up to NIJ 4. Just remember that most plates will require soft armor backing, ones that are rated for stand alone do not.
