They're the only ones offering Black, Tropic, or Arid in a wearable pants/shirt form at this point. Crye Precision hasn't made their AC/G3 lineup available in the new patterns and no one else really has either.

Anyone tried to dye any faded old multicam yet? Not sure how well it would work since most of mine is aramid and probably wont hold dye. cheers, |

Been waiting forever for Tropic. Shame they waited to release it at the end of summer and instead released Black first
Not a fan of TRU-SPEC though as I don't care for their button fly. ETA: Last I heard Crye said new patterns in their line won't be offered until beginning of 2015 - which most likely means mid to late 2015 |

Before spending a lot of money on these two MC variants, first obtain some used GI ACUs that fit you. Go one size up, but never down.
Dye them with Rit Apple Green dye for the greenish tint, and Taupe for the brownish tint. You will have colors resembling those in the pic, if you read up on the Rit site www.ritdye.com. True, the digital pattern will still be there, but I think most people will be impressed with the results. For example, these UCP items were dyed using Rit Apple Green:

The ACUs are a bit darker and greener to the eye, as opposed to what the pix above show. I think the way to go is maybe 4 parts Apple Green dye plus one part Dark Green dye |

Neither really appeal to me personally. Browns are more environment-neutral and the tropic colors are too bright for 3 of 4 seasons. Kryptec Highlander is probably the most useful for temperate forest areas.

UR-Tactical has been offering MC Black and Tropic since the fabric was made available for garment manufacturing. They are made in Hong Kong, but are very high quality, and there are a number of Americans who work there as well. They offer a combat shirt and pants with adjustable knee pads.

I've got quite a bit of Propper, Tru-Spec, and USGI stuff, and I've found it all to be pretty equal size wise.

Cool, thank you sir. I cut off some old MC pants into shorts so I'll see if I can get around to experimenting with the scraps. I'm looking for a more "tropic" color so I'll prob start with the apple and dark green RIT dyes. cheers, |
