Sure is. This may be the fist rig I modded.

I cut and separated the Y suspenders, added a couple simple 1" bands to hold the RACK webbing in place, then sewed the diamond-shaped piece to keep the straps from separating too much. (Got that idea from the forums here)
I also added a Fastex to the back left strap, makes doffing way easier.
On the medic medic pouch, I added a long strap of 1" webbing between the two sides of the zipper. Just grab the strap and yank: both sides unzip and out spills the IFAK insert.

Best part, is that woodland gear is WAY cheap nowadays so I don't feel bad cutting it up.

Oh sure, I have a big old pile of the stuff still. It occupies a special place in my heart. And honestly, woodycam works great in the summer forests up here in PA.
Modified RACK.

Let's see the back of the rig, interested in mod's.

Yes please! Looks like a set of ALICE suspenders under the webbing?

What brand of RACK is that? I really like those mods by the way. I may do some (try and fail) of those to one that I have coming in, Depending on if I need to change it at all of course.

All issued GorTex. It's a really good pattern for central TX.

I recently bought this kit:http://www.unclesamsretailoutlet.com/Safariland-SPEAR-Equipment-Load-Carrying-Subsystem-p/763.htm  Long story short, easily USGI-issue/SDS quality level, and free shipping.  Sized to wear over Interceptor vests, so smaller people will find it huge unless wearing stuff underneath. Mine was lightly used, and complete with very detailed instruction manual.

Well, what with the 25% off an entire order coupon this weekend, and free shipping, my resistance to ordering the SPEAR kit crumbled.
Guessing I'll probably have it sometime around next weekend

They are some low-top Merrels (I think the specific model has been discontinued) with some of THESE.

762 Tactical Chicom chest rig, added the H-harness adapter and some TT shoulder pads.

Polish AK 3 mag pouch in their woodland pattern.

Raf, do you know of any place to find a PDF or similar of the SPEAR instructions? My set didn't include anything. I think I have it figured out so far () but I'd like to make sure.

I'm sure. I typically ran alone and people often mistook me for some CPT (the salutes and all the way sir/captain gave me that impression any ways). I was in 2/325 from 96-98 also

I haven't seen these before. They are advertised as N3B parkas, but I can't find any info about them.

I need another coat like I need another pack, but I figured I'd pass it along. They look very nice.

Thanks for the excellent feedback, Raf. I have suspicions about this jacket's provenance, too. It's not an N3B, that's for sure. And while it seems USGI-like, there are some things that raise eyebrows (like the black fur). Also, the price doesn't scream 'surplus', which supports your theory that they may have been produced for civvy sale.

Anyhow, I'm with you on layering. My gore tex woodies (with snap on fur trim ) over some warm layers treated me very well during a late season snow shoeing, squirrel hunt this past winter. Hip deep snow, never did see a tree rat, but good fun and exercise despite it all. During exertion it's key to be able to vent, and close it up again when it's time to plop down in the powder and sit a spell.

I've been looking into the possibility of rubbing-in some lanolin onto the synthetic fur ruff that I have for my ECWCS, same as you have..

Might help it from getting all tangled/matted into a useless mess like all the used ones I've seen.

Interesting. I have two.... I might have to try that on one of them.

Not sure if it the stuff you're referring too, but I picked up a nice large woody patrol pack for a great price off the EE this week.

Still need a TT X harness for a MAV two piece if anyone has one lying around...
