There is no definitive works best, there is works best for you
I wear a tac vest, but I also run body armor in it because its my duty gear too. Chest rigs are lighter. Go out to your local tac store and try some on and play around with them. You need what is going to work best for your style. |

Yeah you're just going to have to try stuff and find something that works best for you.
I been though a regular ol riggers belt for gear, to a MOLLE vest, to Interceptor Body Armor, to a HSGI Plate Carrier, now I'm on an HSGI battle belt and plan on running a "slick" plate carrier with that. So far it's been really nice having all that stuff on the belt. I was up last night in the living room doing mag changes on both pistol and rifle and I'm liking it better than having all the gear mounted to my front like on a plate carrier. But everyone likes their own thing so again you're just gonna have to go out and give it a shot and find out what you like. Be prepared to spend money lol ![]() |

I will say this, the closer the magazines are to your working area (torso, upper center of chest) the faster your reloads will be. So those vests and rigs that position magazines on the sides may not be the best for you

Comps as in 3 gun? If so, most folks use a belt rig or molle war belt. But like others have said, all is preference. Plate carrier, chest rig, vest, war belt, duty belt, comp belt, etc etc.. Find out what works best for you.
