HSP inserts are reeeeally tight. Really tight.

Like dig for your old mags with Ranger Plate tight.

yeah ive been spoiled with how good kywi are. Sold my haley rig over how bad the inserts were. not a bad chest rig, thought it was too bulky for PC.

I don't find it too terribly bulky. Pretty impressive IFAK fits in the pouch.

I can't see those inserts lossening over time much. Videos make it look easy.

There are some hacks I'm be looking into as well. I really like the IFAK pouch.

52 minutes of Rangers gettin' down with all kinds of fun stuff. Lots of current/modern PC setups included. I'll be posting this in a few relevant threads...

Thinking about getting rid of my JPC 2 for something more comfortable and less minimalist. Anyone have any suggestions? Would like the option of using tubes at least one one side to take the PC on/off faster. Some kind of pack panel compatibility would be nice, and placard compatibility is a must have. I already have adapters if needed.

Was looking at the Daeoon, and K19 but open to other options.

I just put on some PIG should pads on my JPC and it made a world of difference.  $30 vs $200+

What plates are you using?

Also, I think Saber Solutions has a tubes modification for the cummerbund, and the JPC2.0 already is compatible with the Crye back panels. AXL or Quore shoulder pads are also pretty great.

I run AXL ones on my LPAC because it's like 32lb and they're awesome. I know plenty of guys who swear by the Qore ones but I've never felt the need on my JPC

I have Hesco 3810 and Saber Solutions tubes already. The only thing I don't like it's how much longer it takes to adjust the plate carrier if I put it in over a jacket.

The MOS Tactical SPAV-W looks promising, pricy but that doesn't bother me.

Anyone with a JPC/JPC 2.0 and correctly sized plates will tell you that accessing the admin pouch is a RPITA.

AXL Advanced has got a fix for that...

Behold, the Admin Zipper for the Crye JPC and JPC 2.0.

Attachment Attached File

Front side is loop faced.

Attachment Attached File

Back side is hook faced.

Attachment Attached File

Installed, it makes the admin pouch opening stand out a little but not enough to interfere with accessing mags.

I ordered one just over 3 months ago, still waiting. I know that AXL makes their products to order, but this is turning into a long 6-8 week lead time.

Would be worth emailing CS. I forgot about an order, think it was like 3 months on a Crye adapter and they sent one out the next day with extra stickers.

I emailed them when I first placed the order because the lead times are pretty obscure, they quoted 6-8 weeks. About 10 weeks in I emailed again, they said within 2 weeks. That was just over 2 weeks ago. Planning to give it until 3 weeks and email again.

Honestly I don't mind waiting, I just wish the lead times were more accurate.

@PFran42 I’ve been looking for something like this for a LBT 6094A,V2 but AXL doesn’t list the measurement. Admin pocket is 7” wide 5” deep.

Edit- it’s more like 6-1/2” wide.

@FONTY

Does the pocket follow the lines of the pencils? If so, I don't think the AXL zipper will work for your setup. The JPC opens up at an angle and the pocket gets wider past the Velcro. AXL requires that extra space for the Tegris inserts.

EDIT:

That said, you may be able to make it work by taking scissors to the AXL Zipper. I'll take some measurements and get report back tomorrow.

@FONTY

Is your admin pouch 4 PALS loops wide? If so, it matches the width of the JPC's. I'm betting the medium sized AXL Admin zipper will work for you as long as you don't have a problem breaking out a pair of scissors (to cut the ends off the AXL Tegris).

EDIT:

Just found out that AXL makes other zipper adapters. Check these out:

Contact AXL. I'm sure one of the above will work perfectly. Just make sure they know that your admin pocket opening is 4 PALS wide (or 6 inches).

For that price it had better be for two plates.
That listing is rife with misspellings and contradictions. I also like “Size - OS”

Yea I noticed the "one size" option which I thought was strange. I guess calling or emailing them for clarification would help. I have only ever purchased pants from that company, which I love. I am sure they would clear up any confusion if someone was interested.

After watching some videos on the Javelin Concepts RCOS cummerbund and how it is designed to get the rear plate bag to sit higher, it gave me an idea for my JPC 2.0. I posted a couple of times about my issues with plate fitment and how I have to adjust the shoulder straps as short as they will go in order to get the rear plate bag to sit in the correct location (which then leads to other fitment/comfort issues).

On my JPC 2.0, I took off the cummerbund and re-installed it to the rear plate bag but moved the attachment straps down a spot so that the cummerbund sits lower than the rear plate bag. Now the entire setup sits much more comfortably and is lined up more correctly with the profile of my upper torso. Maybe its just me, but even looking at pics of these PCs in the wild, the rear plate bags don't seem to fit correctly on many of the people who wear them as a function of their livelihood.

If you own a JPC/JPC 2.0, you might want to try this out and see if it is more comfortable.

The rear plate bag should ride a little higher if possible but that honestly isn't a huge deal. An impact to the rear has a much larger potential for spinal injury and it is impossible to cover it all anyway. Mobility and comfort are top priority

Sometimes guys just don't really care, sometimes they just say sag, especially when full loaded or shifting under a bag.
I've met more than a few SME's that couldn't care less about their gear, or guns for that matter, just that the stuff works.
Buying your own gear can change that perspective.

Yes, but depending on the carrier raising the rear plate can keep the front plate where it needs to be.
Most guys load the front plate bag so starting level may just sag in the front and rise in the rear anyhow.

Like the other fella said unless you're loading XL SAPIs you're probably compromising: Going higher covers the lung apices but exposes more of the abdominal aorta, lumbar spine, intestinal tract, and vice versa.
Most guys I know that even consider plate placement keep the rear upper plate edge just above or level-ish between the shoulder blades.

Went through every single page  of this thread this morning, loved seeing the evolution of gear.  Pulled the MBAV out of retirement, taking it to drill next weekend...

It looks like an OPS Rapid Responder Armor Plate Carrier. And the only place I've seen them are in airsoft stores.

Crye JPC2.0 in Tropic with an EGL VOCR 3. Plates are a set of Ceradynes that weigh like 4lb per and are half an inch thick. I don't have a picture with the side plates handy, but they're just 6x6s in a Crye side-plate pouch.

Got my 12 y/o son an LBX 0300. eBay $62 shipped. Just need some plates for him now.

Edit: these are from 2014, in a pattern of camo that I’m guessing didn’t sell well. Great deal for the price. That camo will blend well in my AO.

I like it. Digital desert works very well out here.

I gotta know how you did the dangler and mounted the TQ. I have one of those USGI IFAKs.

My guess is the dangler was sandwiched in the bottom of the platebag and the TQ holder is sandwiched between the plate bag and placard.

@jonathon
I used the Velcro part of a Tac Tailor dangler (Grey Ghost Gear also uses the same attachment system) and threaded the pouch's MOLLE straps through that. (550 cord loops through the bottom PALS row on the PC also works...that's how I have my dangler attached to my other PC and the reason I had the Velcro part lying around).

I have the both the TQ holder and the Velcro dangler thingamajig sandwiched in the plate.
