SMC is a large carrier so there will be space up top of empty material if you go with medium plates like me.  I have single curve level IV LA Police Gear 10x12 in that carrier.  I have multi curve medium  RMA level III+ in the JPC 2.  The JPC is more comfortable because the plates are nicer.  I have not tried the RMA plates in the SMC.  If you can get the SMC at 30% off, it's a pretty smoking deal.  I cannot tell if it's made in the USA though.  SMC does have the tubes and more padding and built in cumberbund storage.

Grey Ghost themselves had them 30% off for Father's Day.  I assume they will do that deal again at some point.

I like mine. It’s not as full featured as a 6094 (as evidenced by the price) but it suits my civilian needs perfectly.

Finally got all the components in for my carrier. This is my ideal setup. I was going for a more minimal approach for the placard/chest rig and decided to go with the HeadOn Tactical Mod3. It bares a resemblance to the Haley Micro but doesn't have the extensions coming off the sides and has a very thin admin pouch incorporated into the very back of the rig, with velcro closure. The entire rig is lined with loop.

The carrier is by Gear Dynamics, out of Canada. Their design is amazing. The cumberbund attachment points allow you to get the height of the back plate up high enough to be in the correct position, without bringing front plate up and choking you out every time you go to look down. Features stretch panels along the sides so the plates fit in there TIGHT. I'm running Ceradyne/Paraclete Lvl IV, USGI ESAPI SOF plates, size small. The carrier was custom made to fit those plates, with 3A backers.

@ttac0
What mag inserts are you running in the mod3? I want to run the d3crm, but no telling when that will be back in stock. Im interested in getting the mod3 after seeing your post. I know the d3crm is compatible with esstac kywi mid inserts, which is what I would like to run. It would be dope if the kywi inserts are compatible with the mod3.

Haven't weighed it, but even with everything on it, it doesn't feel as cumbersome as the IBA I wore in Iraq and Afghanistan.  Maybe a little heavier, but not as restrictive.

I've only got seven AR mags on it, and they are fairly evenly distributed across the front and sides.  Despite appearances, the pistol doesn't block access to the mags.  None of the rest of the items are that heavy.  The med kit takes up a lot of space, buy it's pretty light.

I keep my IFAK at my 10/11 o'clock and it works for me. I shoot my sidearm left handed and my long guns right handed. I incorporate my drop leg holster whenever I can so the IFAK doesn't interfere with the carry and draw of my sidearm on my left thigh.

I basically just removed the belt clip from the backing plate and threaded a clip through the hole and down behind the plate.

If this is the same one :https://www.amazon.com/Tactical-Holster-BaoFeng-Motorola-Arcshell/dp/B07BHRLX3R

It looks like a modified Taco (https://www.amazon.com/dp/B00F61PA4E/ref=dp_prsubs_2) which led me to try something.  A Baofeng with the extended battery fits quite snugly in the Taco.  , if you modify the plastic retainers on the side of the taco to allow access to buttons and plugs, then add some bungi to the top you've got a pouch for the extended battery version.

This option is expedient, but very sub-optimal. The plastic on the sides has a tendency to trigger the PTT and hot mic. Dedicated pouches would be far better.
