With only four columns of PALS on the pack, a triple mag shingle would stick out, either on one side or both, of the pack. Triple shingles are generally 6 columns wide.

Ooh what's that?

I Googled it.

It's the 782 Smokin Kloke. It's similar to the USGI poncho liner except it is wearable. It is also lighter, compresses down smaller, and is water resistant than the standard liner.

It also performs better in colder temperatures. The standard woobie has stitching throughout the blanket that creates cold pockets. There is virtually no stitching except for two X reinforcement stitches on the front.

It's similar to the Kifaru Woobie Express except that the Kifaru product has no stitching except for the outer seams for ultimate insulation, and the price.

Not sure if 782 is still making these as not a lot of places carry it. I luckily got it from amazon considerably less than USCAV's price and waaay less than the Kifaru Woobie Express.

This thing is damn warm.

That's a nice piece of kit. I have the 782 Gear Smokin Vest and I used to like it, but it hasn't been used since I got a Massif IWOL vest. I'll have to look in to the Smokin Kloke.

I did pick up a TT/MSM Adapt Pack, and I'm having TR0N custom-build me a chest rig panel. I'll post pics once it's all finished and in my hands.

The original designs that were released were more armor friendly. The load lifters at the top of the shoulder straps were attached with male and female buckles that could easily be rigged to molle carriers:

Unfortunately, the ASAPs now have standard slider adjustments instead of buckles. I can still jerry rig some webbing to come over the top of the shoulder pads of my PC and clip to the front of my LWPC, but I would have preferred the original design because it is more modular.

How in the hell does your glock ranger plate stay on? Two out of three of mine ripped off before I even got to the range.

Is that a Tactical Tailor belt? How do you like it? Any issues with it folding over when loaded up?

A couple have survived..  super glue and hot glue seems to hold them on better.  A couple are missing down range.. friend of mine borrowed them for a trip.

Pouches ordered up and I will do a side-by-side comparison to the Haley D3 as that is what I'm trying to improve upon. I love my D3 but there's always room for improvement...

Just getting started into the firearm community.  Always been interested but didn't really get started until two years ago.

I've been in the gear game for about a week, this is my first piece and right now it's basically empty.

it's not much, but it's mine and it's a start.

I've got a cobra belt and holster on order that will carry my handgun and allow me to move the pistol mags down, freeing up that pocket on this rig for a flashlight.  Other than that it has 4xPmags and a leatherman MUT. I've been browsing around for an IFAK to put in this thing, as well as gathering ideas for the rest of it.  For now though, it's what I've got to work with for some upcoming classes.

Excellent start . If/when you get interested in plate carriers pick up a Mayflower APC and the D3 will clip right in.

The better shots confirm it's not an HSRC or the Galati knockoff.  Too short, wrong weapon retention mechanism ........... Looks like a wannabe knock off....

Did some googling and it looks like it's an Eagle HSRC.  Thanks for the tip.

My original plan was to piece together a PC with some pouches to act as a psuedo chest rig until I could scrounge together the money for plates...until I realized how much fail that would be.

So, just taking it slow here.  Once I've got some spare coin I'll grab a decent set of plates and the carrier you talked about and go from there.

I've also started looking at a 3 day pack.  I know LBT has a nice sale right now and TT makes one that interfaces well with the D3CR.  Might not be a bad way to go, being able to stack the gear.  Plus then I could carry water as well.

Sigh...I have a feeling this is going to get really expensive

You have no idea yet

But yes, I like being able to interface a chest rig with a pack seamlessly for the 99% of the time I don't want to run a full PC (see 1st post at the top of this page for my favorite setup).
