First I painted my mag shingles.  I bought them from SBPA (in the EE) for only $5 a piece.  I think they turned out nice.  Light, light coat of spray paint on them.  The material absorbs it really well, so it's not just a colored crust.

Here are the vests from Maine Military. Not bad at all for $9.99 shipped.

Legit surplus - made by Specialty Defense Systems

Here's how she looks with the painted 3 mag shingles.

The painted mags and the vest compared to Foliage PMAG

The vest compared to a lightly painted Desert FLC (the one from the OP) - I bought from Sportman's Guide for $14.99 (also made by Specialty Defense Systems ).

Rear of the originally Desert FLC - the ugly ACU bag is a platoon medic kit

Another comparison shot:

DAMAGE

Specialty Defense Systems Desert (originally) MOLLE vest (zippered) - $14.99 Sportsman's Guide
Platoon Medic Kit - $16.99
3 mag shingle (woodland) $7 a piece from gun show ($14)
Woodland 2 mag pouch - $2.50 at gun show
Compass pouch w/ 2 field dressings - $7.50 at gun show
TOTAL = $55.98

Specialty Defense Systems Woodland MOLLE vest (non-zippered) - $9.99 Maine Military
3 mag shingles (originally Desert) - $5 a piece from EE ($10)
Woodland 2 mag pouch - $2.50 at gun show

TOTAL = $22.49

*I still need a med kit for the woodland vest, which will add $15-20 to the overall cost.
Because these are AR15 vests, I also plan on adding bayonets if I can find a way to rig them securely to the vest.

Also, with my remaining vest I intend to set up a pistol/shotgun vest.  I need to buy another med kit and also some MOLLE shotgun shell holders.  I'm wondering if I should just pack the shotgun shells loose into a SAW gunners pouch.  Anyways, I already have the pistol pouches.  Need the MOLLE holster.  When I gather these, they will go on to my remaining vest:

nice rigs and guns. I have flexi cuffs too, they are a good addition to your gear. Never know when you are going to need them. Have you done any training in your  rigs? I found with mine too many mags was too much so I cut my  carry in half.  Bulky,   my gear is bulky too, but it does what I need it to. If it suites your needs you are  good  to go.

And just  cuz you have flexis doesn't mean you are going to arrest someone, it gives an edge to restrain multiple persons.

That comment wasnt directed at you, it was directed at MightyMints, and being a civilian and arresting people is not such a good idea.  There is quite a bit that can go bad real quick when someone who doesnt know how to arrest someone tries, especially if the arrestee is ill intentioned.  It was a legitimate question, just looking for a legitimate answer.

Currently...

Tactical Tailor Modular PC
DBT Admin Pouch
2 TT mag pouches
ATS medium GP pouch for first aid - little large but I like it..
TT Hydration bladder
Source Bladder
First Choice 10x12 level IV stand alone plates.. from the demo's I've seen these are very, very nice and exceed NIJ specs.

The TT carrier is actually not bad at all with plates. The 10x12 plates SWIM in it by themselves. I plan to add backers eventually. To keep the plates high and in place I made a half pocket with closed cell sleeping mat foam and duct tape(gorilla tape actually.. good shit!). This also alleviated another issue.. zero padding on the PC and the plates dug in.

I also plan to get the HSGI shoulder pads to try out.. gotta be better than the ones on the TT which need fiddling with after donning.

Good mount location on knife, though may consider having it blade up so on your draw, the blade is oriented edge forward...when you cross draw in a vertical grip or reverse (icepick) grip.  Also, location of the T-kit looks good, can you access it with the weak hand?  A++ on all your kit setup.  straight forward!

I put the knife there primarily for reaction side use which is why I oriented it blade down, however I found it's actually easier to cross draw it this way too and still have the blade forward. As for the trauma kit, it is possible to get it with my left hand although it's not very pretty lol. I guess I could move the bladder more to the left to center the t-kit a little better. Thanks for the tips.

With the cross draw, your wrist is in a more natural grip position if the blade is up, whether going for a standard or reverse grip. Then after draw (with strong hand) all you do is rotate the wrist once and you're ready.  Doing it blade down you have to rotate the wrist and flip it, two motions not one.  Though you have a point if you're using it primary for weak hand use only, especially in a ground...fight blade down maybe.

Ill be your huckleberry.
I dont run flex cuffs, I run 75 or 150 lb rated zip ties.  I run zipties rather than flex cuffs because they are modular and can be used for multiple things.  The number one reason I have them is for detention, but that is not the only reason by a long shot.  I dont have a crystal ball and I dont arrest people.  I want to give myself and the ones I train with as many options as possible.  I didnt see where Mints stated that he would be arresting people.

Now to flip the script - where is your gear and how do you plan on controlling an individual you come in contact with post conflict? I presume you would just shoot them since you have not mentioned any other behavior modification methods...

I have absolutely no plans what so ever in detaining individuals IF there was any type of SHTF event.  I am not trained to do so, and this question was simply put out there for a legitimate response.  I do however find it odd that Mints has not responded to my question and two other people have, both of which the question was not addressed to.  I agree, detention is not the only reason to carry zip ties, but in the position he has them carried in, one would only be left to assume that is what they are there for.  Stow them away in a pocket on the vest or whatever, to me this would lower your profile and there by lower your profile on what governmental authority that my exist.  Again the question was there for him, not anyone else, if I had a question on your loadouts, I would ask you, not someone else.

why is it people like you always think this stuff is only for SHTF? Here is a little advice. Stop looking in the mirror at how pretty you look with your shit on and go out and use it. You probaably have never used your gear for real world situations. Perhaps you might find multiple people breaking into your car at night, what then bud? Shoot them all and go to prison?  Listen to what other people say and do, there is a lot of good advice and experience here.
