I advise not doing that, take the pouch and mag together then just place them in a warm area of the house for a few weeks, it will naturally over time loosen up a bit without compromising the retention.
I can also say that if you leave a mag in the pouch for 1 year it will no longer retain as well as you want it to. then again reheating and reshaping will bring it back but reheating will just start causing more issues. Best bet is to use some Velcro one wrap and you can put it wherever you want on the belt. The Kywi Gap pouches are great. |

I’d like to contribute a modification I came across. This is cross posted in the other battle belt thread.
This is not my idea, I stole it and ran. Cut the belt loops off a UBL, and screw on a blade tech tech lok. I’m digging up the pics...brb. ETA As promised modified UBL with Blade Tech Tek Lok for my sons P-10 OR with TRL-1. Easy peazy 20 minutes Dremel cut off wheel to take off belt loops after scribe a cut line. Lead the line. Sand to dimensions with a fine drum, rounding corners and sharp edges. Then I used the brush wheel attachment to smooth it out. Center punch a mark using the tek lok as a template on one of the two upper holes. Small drill first, followed with a bit the size of the barrel nut. Screw it on snug. Line up and center punch the other 2 holes. Drill and reinstall with rubber washers provided. No cant but you certainly could add some. Center punch a mark using the tek lok as a template on one of the two upper holes. Small drill first, followed with a bit the size of the barrel nut. Screw it on snug. Line up and center punch the other 2 holes. Drill and reinstall with rubber washers provided. No cant but you certainly could add some. https://www.ar15.com/media/mediaFiles/262787/427C87C2-C12E-4F39-B0FF-B57D1BBECB33_jpe-1828553.JPG https://www.ar15.com/media/mediaFiles/262787/40820D51-92F2-4A63-A439-46A3F9CC153C_jpe-1828554.JPGhttps://www.ar15.com/media/mediaFiles/262787/34396726-E622-48EB-B77D-EDD28B05B192_jpe-1828556.JPG My rig https://www.ar15.com/media/mediaFiles/262787/AA4A9128-2FB0-46F6-94E7-FD4490A7A896_jpe-1828560.JPG Neat. I did something very similar a few years ago. https://files.catbox.moe/mmqpvt.jpg https://files.catbox.moe/ytpeyx.jpg Have you considered cutting off the belt loops? Yes I had considered it. Two reasons I didn't. 1. At the time I wasn't sure it would work or if I even would like it & wanted To be able to go back. 2. I had this weird aversion to permanently modify things. Probably because I didn't have a whole lot of money and feared that if I messed it up I would be out the item + the $$$. I also had a mild concern that it might comprise the overall strength of the hanger. Today I would probably cut them off if I went back to using it. Legit |

What thickness one wrap Velcro is everyone using for a Blue Alpha Gear Molle Belt to attach Esstac Pouches? I want to get rid of the malice clips.

I am seriously ready for a BFG micro TKN. Yours and PFrans look great and our set ups are very similar. I have a vertical pouch, and I'm certain the BFG will make I easier to sit in a vehicle. Will be ordering one very soon. It should fit the stuff I carry on my belt ifak. Hyfin compact chest seals, QC combat gauze, pressure bandage, NPA, chest needle and gloves. Where are yall carrying y'alls shears with this ifak though? My TQ will go horizontal in front of my pistol by the buckle or in a hammock. I just need to think about shear placement |

I picked up a Benchmade 8 Hook from an Army surplus store in Ft. Benning for under $10 and ended up sticking it in 5.56 Estaac mag pouch (sandwiched between the Kydex and the nylon on the inside. I'd like to hear how others with the BFG TKN! are handing the shears issue. Attached File Attached File |

@scuba_steve what TQ pouch is that? Looks nice. I looked at Tactical Tailor and a Canadian company called Line of Fire (LOF) Defence Systems. Similar designs. Curious what that one runs.
