I threaded the holes in the receiver today and installed the XS GRS I had today.

I'm not sure if the front sight will last though. The OD of the barrel was a little too small so there is a couple turns of gorrilla glue duct tape. If it gets launched I'll silver solder a lpa front on.

Hopefully I'll be shooting closer to POA than I was with just a bead

With the plus 1 extension and ghost loading 1 I can have 7 rounds ready

The Nordic handle, BCS big head safety, and mesa stock are the other mods.

Not with the sights on it. A couple hundred before but it was a few years ago. It's just been waiting.

For the front sight take a piece of copper tubing and slit it to make a bushing for the sight to clamp on to.

That's a better idea. I'll shoot it as it is today just to see if the hight is right but probably will do that.

Shoots 16" high at 25 yards with the rear sight all the way down

Front sight needs to be taller, but damn that's high. take that picatinny off and shoot it like it's a bead sight and see where you're at.

Ugly as sin but my silver solder paste from Brownells got dried out. Hopefully it holds. I'll clean it up after I test fire today.

Hopefully it's centered

That's a bummer. I wonder if anybody has any tricks for installing it straight.

What's special about the 11-48 action again?

Nothing, it's just old and reliable

All right, let's try this again.

I removed it, then I think I reinstalled it "straight er". I hope.

SUCCESS!

Didn't have to adjust at all prit near perfect. Slugs are about an inch high at 25 yards.

Today was just a function test. A few rounds to check zero then  two 5+1+1 mag dumps with slugs to ensure function and that the front sight stayed on

Nice shotgun, I love the 11 series. Maybe clean the hell out of it for a FT extract issue. My 1100 gets real finicky when the gas ports are dirty.

Neat gun. Don't know how many 11-48 I've passed by over the years. They're inexpensive enough to get into, but I don't know really anything about them, ignorant enough to shy away. Maybe its just time to jump in with both feet and get one. IIRC the owner of local shop/C2 keeps cut-down 11-48 around his shop.

The 11-48 is recoil operated like the A-5
