I hope you'll forgive that my first intrusion into your forum comes with kind of a "dumb" question.

I'm editing a book and need  help with a weapon for one of the characters.

I'm a fan of shotguns, but have no experience with this kind.

The character needs an uber-short, semi-auto, 12-gauge shotgun.

The shortest I can find in a Benelli (my first choice) is still roughly 30"or so with the stock collapsed. That won't do. It's too long.

It's looking to me like the Saiga is the best choice, because it looks like I can get it down to (roughly)  24-26" or so (give or take a little), and it appears to be fed by removeable magazines  so the overall length can be short without compromising the number of rounds available.

I need it as short as possible, but I'm having trouble finding what I believe is accurate info on the real length of the 12-gauge with the collapsible stock in its shortest version. (This would not have been cut off by the character--she would have purchased it somewhere.)

I'm also having trouble with finding accurate info about how many rounds fit into the various magazine incarnations that are available.  (I've looked at at least ten sites, with zero consistent information on any of them--obviously I'm missing something.)

Whether the character must reload or not, and how often (she's fighting some supernatural nasties, so it's going to take a number of rounds, even with her custom ammo) will all depend on getting this right.

Any help you can offer from real knowledge or personal experience (even sending me to references you know are legit) would be much appreciated.

The questions, in summary:

1-How long is the shortest incarnation of the 12-gauge that is commercially available (even from a vendor who shortens the weapons--that's totally okay).

2-I know there is a 20-round drum. But what are the capacities of the smaller magazines available for this shotgun?

YES!  That's the one I'm after.

I found that image, and kept looking for exact stats on it, but could not find it anywhere...the length with the stock folded, etc.

ETA:  I mean I found an image of a weapon like that...don't know that it was THAT image...

Also, what size magazines are available for it?  (I mean how many does the mag hold, plus one in the chamber).
