Been working on a Mossberg 500c 20 gauge I picked up for $200 a couple years ago.

So far I have:
- Swapped the pistol grip for a Mesa Tactical LEO low tube adapter w/ Magpul MOE stock and Hogue over mold pistol grip.
- Added a UTG rail to the receiver.
- Hand polished the bolt (started with 320 grit and worked my way to 3000 grit then buffed out with polish.)
- Added sling swivels.
- Installed a Hogue over mold forend (I had to weld/ grind my stock forend nut to an adapter nut to get this to work on my model, not sure if there was another method, but it worked great.)

Pictures:

I'm planning on getting a Vortex Sparc 2 sight for it and maybe a side saddle shell holder but not sure if I really want all that on there. I like clean and simple for the most part.

Excellent work.

In regards to the Hogue, Mossberg shotguns with 6 3/4" forend tubes will require an adapter nut. In some instances the the forend may not fit to the magazine tube. Hogue recommends the following fix: Where the nut starts on the forend, use a drum sander or a dremel tool and drop down inside the forend approximately 1/4" and slightly remove the ribs just so the nut can slide down inside...in other words, you did what was expected to make it fit and it's normal. It's when you have some post 2005 forend parts for a pre 2005 Mossberg is where you start running into issues

I'm thinking of driving some time and dropping off my 590 and say gimme the full package.

Helps that Vang Comp is 20 minutes away

Yeah I would have done the same if I was in your shoes. I don't know there turn around time now, but when I did this 2 years ago they had a really long wait.

Thanks man - it would be nicer if I could find a stock, and then find the time to get out and use it.

I think that would look perfect with a short, entry-style stock.
Or, if you're really adventurous, you could try using those sights with only a pistol-grip!

Either way, please do post pics when it's done. That's a sweet shotgun!

Cool.  What is that?  Winchester 1200?

Yep.  Had $125 in gift certificates to the small gun shop where my parents live (Christmas gift) so I moseyed on in to see what they had.
Spent $76 out of pocket for it and a case.

my new to me police trade in shotguns from Mark at http://summitgunbroker.com/    Remington 870p with ghost ring sights and Mossberg 590 with ghost ring sights. both are in good working order just a few scratches here and there but that's what you expect for a police trade in.
