Nice 500! Years ago, I had one just like that, but with factory furniture. I still miss that old bitch!

Just a word of caution: unless they've changed in the last few years, those snap-on Tru-Glo front
sights are pretty fragile. I went through three of them in less than six months. I like the brightness
of them, and the sight plane is the same as the factory bead. They just tended to break a lot.

Great shotgun, though. I wish Mag-Pul had been around when I had that gun. Looks good!

My newest blaster, a 1995-dated Beretta 1201FP. It doesn't look like the gun's had more than a few shells run through it, but that all changed today. 60 rounds of S&B 12-pellet 00 buckshot, 30 rounds of various birdshot, and 5 slugs. This gun is fast, sleek, and it kicks like a proverbial mule. Thinking about swapping the stock for either the Beretta/Choate pistol grip stock, or a PG stock for a Benelli M1 Super 90.

It looks like it weighs a fuckton compared to what? Perhaps a few of the SBSs and 5-shot factory guns.

The Limbsaver isn't even on there anymore actually. The weight of it and the sling is pretty much nothing? My 870 came from the factory with the extension, and I don't feel like changing it. I'd rather take the extra capacity anyways. The stock is a Speedfeed 4s, and is relatively light. The sling is a cheap Uncle Mikes Shotgun Sling. The only thing that I really bolted on to the gun is the Streamlight rail, and it's just a tiny piece of metal with some polymer attached to it. Not sure how accurate it is, but according to my Bass Pro fish scale, it weighs barely over 8lbs unloaded.

I don't claim it's the lightest, but it's definitely lighter than a lot of the shotguns in this thread though. It doesn't have a fancy stock adapter, AR furniture, or a heatshield, or a sidesaddle, or a bayonet either

I was claiming it's lighter compared to the shotguns in this thread that have a full length picatinny rail with two lights, three lasers, a VFG, an optic, and 15 rounds in shell holders attached to the side.

I almost got the MFT Minimalist, but ended up going B5 Sopmod Bravo on both my ARs.

It's seriously a pet peeve of mine when people start adding rails, and attach heavy, useless things in the never ending quest to be tacticool and accepted in the eyes of the internet. In the end, it's your gun, whatever floats your boat is what you should stick with. Just know that when I see it, I'm looking at something as functional as this:

I most certainly understand what you're saying, I do.

Arf pic threads seem to be either dominated by the gucci name brand folks or the gucci one uppers. Me, my gun is a tool, it has to do what I need it to do, which is going bang and without killing my shoulder in regards to shotguns.

Other than a possible trip to Vang Comp which is a 21 minute drive for me, this is it.

I do plan on getting an 870 or a 1200 one day, but an HD one with all wooden furniture and keeping it pure as is.

I like the minimalist in that setup. Not much is sexier than an old beat up 870P with wood furniture. I had a set of express walnut furniture I got off the EE, and chopped it up and refinished it, to sort of look like the 870P wood, but it ended up looking too pretty and I didn't want to scratch it up. I sold it for profit and kept the Speedfeed. I need to find a beat up wood police stock set.

These aren't mine.

I had my wood stock set a lighter color, similar to this

The MFT took away the AR feel to it, and it's much lighter. Inside is a hydraulic Enidine buffer. The side saddle is also minimal holding just four in reserve over the five offering for that side, and no side saddle at all on the other side.

My 1925-made Winchester Model 12 with the barrel cut back to 20.5". It's gotten a big brass bead sight added to it since I took these pics last weekend, and I hope to have it back tomorrow. The brass shells are for decorative purposes only, as some of them are already split or cracked without being fired yet.

That's exactly what it looks like. I swapped out the wood furniture on an 870 I once owned for that very reason. Hacking up the wood wasn't something I wanted to do.

It would have to be a hell of a side saddle, because the edge of it is in front of the receiver. Either way, I got a set of wood police furniture for a lot cheaper than they usually go for.

At the range today with my 90 year old Model 12 and 20 year old Beretta 1201FP. Ammo was a mix of Winchester mil-spec 00 buck, Federal LE132 00 buck, Winchester Foster-type slugs, and mostly Suprema 00 buck. I only had 21 yards to work with, so all my patterns were a bit big except for the Federal. The Suprema is impressive stuff, especially for the cost. It's definitely NOT low-recoil stuff, but it burns clean and throws a decent pattern at the ranges I shot today. It's a big improvement over the S&B 12-pellet 00 buck that's been my standby for years, as that load is very smoky and leaves a lot of lead streaking in the bore. Winchester mil-spec is typical cheap fodder, and should cost around the same as the Suprema. No way it's worth almost $1/round, but it sure looks cool, so I bought five boxes.
