Went from a boring as hell, way too long, all black, 28" ported goose gun that was good for upland game hunting and upland game hunting only, to this versatile little scatter gun. Just got the barrel back from being chopped and re threaded for chokes.

Winchester Model 12 (Made in 1942) in 12 gauge. I believe the finish is original, but the wood was added sometime later in life. No idea about the Poly-Choke on it. Lovely gun. A bitch on stilts to put back together. They just do not make guns like this any more. The machining on this thing is amazing. Using one of these will make you understand why the Remingon 870 sold in such large numbers. As lovely a thing as the Model 12 is, the 870 is much simpler and easier to deal with. View Quote |

An Ace M4 Socom short stock would be awesome on that bad boy and would be much better suited for a 12g auto.

Any suggestions are welcome. http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v356/travinh007/Rifles/Remington%20870.jpg Latest update -- Found the .875 inch gas block that was almost fitted to my Rem 870 barrel diameter (.885 inch).
