$305 total for the 1100 - don't mind the ghetto buttstock/recoil pad. 9+1 seminauto 12g
$440 total for the 870 including stamp and engraving.

I'm before "go be poor somewhere else"

This poor 870 ended up being a test bed for an old type face technique that i'd been wanting to try for a while. Not necessarily the prettiest but as it is my beater truck gun/spare bird hunter i'm not too worried.

This one has an interesting tale.  Originally bought as a bag of parts, an older 500 hunting gun.  Turned out the receiver was damaged so I got one from Gunbroker that had been Cerakoted FDE.  Then, thought it would be slick to coat everything else in black Alumahyde.  Learned that stuff isn't good for tight tolerances inside a gun...just for the outside.  Brake cleaner fix.  Several of the original parts were too worn so I had to scrounge.  A mostly fun experience.

The short barrel is the original 30" cut down to the last legal full rib (about 19"), the long tube is a newer choke tube model with some cosmetic issues which made it a good candidate for the project.  Exterior is a combo of tan/FDE/black Alumahyde and the aforementioned Cerakote receiver.

Went from a boring as hell, way too long, all black, 28" ported goose gun that was good for upland game hunting and upland game hunting only, to this versatile little scatter gun. Just got the barrel back from being chopped and re threaded for chokes.

In celebration of ordering a new 870P I decided to finish my first 870 Express by finally upgrading the Surefire incandescent setup to a new Malkoff LED setup. Sooo bright and such smooth flood.

**ETA**
woohoo my new 870p came in quicker than expected

added my velcro backer for the side saddle and painted a more hiviz color on the front site.
Next month is Vang Comp goodness, then we can start to get on track.

Decided to try my hand at painting. I've never painted a actual firearm but it turned out well enough that I may paint one of my ARs this way. So here's my Mossberg Maverick 88.

Started with a base coat of Krylon Ultra Flat Khaki and then angled sections of Rustoleum Ultra Flat Camoflauge Earth Brown.

Then I covered it in a mesh laundry bag and sprayed the Khaki over the Brown sections and the Brown over the Khaki sections.

Then at an angle going the opposite direction, I made a couple passes with Krylon Ultra Flat Olive.

This is the finished product. It should work pretty well year-round is southeastern Virginia. The cardboard was the test run.

This is a close up of the pattern and how the three colors mesh.

Edit: Here's the actual finished product with no tape or paper towels on/in it.

Picked this up today.  Benelli told me 60-90 days ETA when I placed the order.  That was about three weeks ago.  So when my FFL called and said they had a package, I thought great, they sent the wrong one.  Nope, exactly as ordered.  Benelli M4 H2O, 7 round magazine, collapsible stock and night sights.  Added the Eotech, Taran Tactical safety, charging handle, and follower.  Also installed the Mesa Tactical 6rd side saddle. I'll be installing the Taran bolt release shortly.  I just have to drill and tap the factory part.  I plan on picking up the AVA Tactical light mount and light.  Only thing up in the air is the sling.  I'm open to suggestions for this.

My latest evidence of gunbroker addiction. Winchester Model 12 (Made in 1942) in 12 gauge. I believe the finish is original, but the wood was added sometime later in life. No idea about the Poly-Choke on it.

Lovely gun.

A bitch on stilts to put back together.

They just do not make guns like this any more. The machining on this thing is amazing.

Using one of these will make you understand why the Remingon 870 sold in such large numbers. As lovely a thing as the Model 12 is, the 870 is much simpler and easier to deal with.

Nice! Love Model 12s! Just got a 1930 16-gauge Model 12 at a gun show this past weekend. Mine also came with a poly-choke. Was reading that some came that way from the factory, although mine's also stamped "2 3/4" Full," so not sure what the "Full" means if not full choke? Anyway, here's mine:

November 2016 -- Rib was removed & forend was shorten, new Hogue AR15 mil-spec butt stock. I would like to use the AR15 flip up front & rear sights, so I am trying to find an AR15 picatiny gas block that can be clamped to my 870 barrel which has the same plane with my Mesa adapter rail. Any suggestions are welcome.
http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v356/travinh007/Rifles/Remington%20870.jpg

Latest update -- Found the .875 inch gas block that was almost fitted to my Rem 870 barrel diameter (.885 inch). After I did some filing of the gas block inner diameter, it now fits perfectly. I will replace that pistol grip with a better one. I am still in researching for ways to mount flash light.

You last revision looks nice. The stock looks good but it's not to practical for 12g recoil. You might think about an Ace M4 Socom short stock, it has a nice thick soft butt pad and is rock solid, no wobbly jiggle to it at all.
I was going for the same type of tactical build with a Winchester 1300 Defender.
