It was an old 870 Wingmaster I picked up at the local gunshop- had a 20 somthin barrel on it.  Once my paperwork was approved I had the smithy cut it to 11in. and then added the pistol grip and he gave it a nice OD gunkote. sidesaddle and tangodown grip-----gotta love it.

Bead sight was added- a nice fiber optic orange one.

Nice stuff here. I have two SBR AR's and have been wanting to do a 14" Rem 870. Maybe sooner than later after seeing some of these pictures.

Thanks!

Is that a zeiss z-point?  I bet it rules on a shotgun.

A SBS gas operated benelli.  Wow.  That would be frigging awesome.

I hear that Benelli is making a shirt barrel for the M4, but its only available to LE. I'd love to turn my M4 into a SBS.

I had seen pictures of mean looking muzzle brakes on the net and really wanted one. It's just too hard to buy them in this part of the world so I had to make my own.

It's turned/milled out of a piece of worn out M2 BMG bbl. Real hard steel!!!
The teeth are case hardened.

USMC03, did you just grind down and round off the corners of your recoil pad or is that a replacement of some sort?

Hi TACO,

My local smith custom fitted a Pachmayr Decelerator recoil pad and rounded off the edges so it wouldn't get caught on my SWAT gear.  The work was done back in 1999.

Did you have to open up the gas ports to get it running 100%?  I cut a couple 1100's down to 18" and needed to open the gas ports to get them working with the reduced recoil loads.

Still haven't fired it yet. Won't get a chance until next year

Yes I will have to open up the gas ports to get it running 100%. I will do it on the range.
I had to drill a 4th port on my 14" S-12 to get it running properly.

I re-parked the bbl about 2 weeks ago and made up a +1 extension. Here's a pic of it finished.
The 14" 870 Express is one I built up for a friend.

What's the bbl length and mag capacity?? 3+1+1??

10.5" bbl. 4+1 capacity. runs great as long as you feed it fast. was awesome to have for tac shotgun class (2/ 8hr days) very light and maneuverable. patterns better with reduced tac loads.

a pic today:

w/ m3x and v-tac speed sling.

Ok, so I'm at the shop earlier this week, reveling in the fact that I am now a firearms manufacturer, and fully licensed to build NFA weapons. Well, it's rarely a good idea to leave me alone with my evil thoughts for long.

There was a used, New England Firearms Pardner SB1 12 gauge shotgun sitting on the rack, and I happened to have an Advanced Technology AR-style collapsible stock set for an NEF single-shot laying around. Add those two components together with a machine shop, an SOT, and my twisted mind, and you get this:

A 10.25" barreled short-barreled shotgun, registered on a Form 2.

It serves no logical purpose, whatsoever, other than the "I could legally do it" purpose. I took it to the range yesterday, and ran about 15 rounds through it. Most were Remington Reduced Recoil slugs and 00 Buck, along with some S&B 00 Buck. It will put a beating on you. Being the sick individual that I am, I just had to do it. I put one, and only one, 3" Magnum slug down range. WOW! What recoil, and what a fireball! I now have a sore shoulder, and a small bruise.

Was it worth it? Why not? Does it make sense? Not really! Would I ever find a use for it, such as HD, skeet, or hunting? No way! Would anyone really want to pay a $200 transfer tax to buy one? I highly doubt it! But, the law says I can do it, I had the stuff laying around, and it was just begging to be done. Kind of like sailing westward, looking for a passaage to the Orient.

I'm already considering how I'm going to mount a vertical foregrip, a bipod, a flashlight, and/or a bayonet on to it.
Link Posted: 11/15/2006 1:20:40 PM EDT
[#46]
That is actually badass. If it had a rail system with a surefire light/foregrip combo, that could totally be used for something worthwhile. A 3" or larger shell full of 00 or 000 buck would be sweet through that. Can you thread the barrel so you could put a Benelli crio choke in it?

LOL, thanks.  It's actually not too bad to shoot, once I put one of those M4-stock sized recoil pads on it.  That, or I'm getting used to it after almost 100 rounds in the last 2 weeks.

The one that is pictured has been sold, and I have at least 2-3 other SERIOUSLY interested parties.  I might have to start mass-producing these things.
