EDIT: Also, the newest batches of SS197 SR have lead free primers in them.

Why I bought the ammo when I did. Looking back now, I should have bought more. Hell I still need to find a 5.7. I still don't have one yet. Been looking all over and the prices are crazy. Found a used one I was going to buy, until the store clerk pulled the number $1,850 out of his butt. Lost a few auctions on gunbroker as well.

Just got my 30 boxes in. All SS197 SR boxes with a lead free sticker on each.

I got my 1k

that I back ordered with cabelas. Wish I had ordered more called in to see if they would take a phone back ordered again and they won't at this time. The next " estimated" time to get more in us March. They had over 350,000 rounds available (7k of 50 rounds boxes) and the nice lady said on the phone it was all gone in 2 days.

Going to swing by the local store and just see if any is sitting on the shelf. So far they seem like the only people that don't charge ridiculous price when they do get it in stock.

I actually found a 5.7 today for $1,200. The same place had ammo as well for $28.99 a box, 4 box per person limit. I bought my 4 boxes, just because the gun shop didn't rape me on the price of a gun.
I wish I had bought more as well, but at least I have a gun to use the ammo with now.

Ya I am still looking for a PS90 and not a skyhigh price, I was looking before the madness just have the Five Seven for now... I had a chance to get a first gen the other day but it was 3500

Damn, too much for my taste. I just can't wait for the weekend so I can try the new 5.7. I blow off a few boxes to set the sights. Need to get some EA Ammo as well

Just a heads up. The 197 with LF primers shoots great. No issues and it all goes bang when I pull the trigger.

Supposed life span is 10 years. This ammo will be long gone before then.

Well found a Gen 2 PS90 NIB for 2500 so I snagged it, Still cant find any more ammo.

Good stuff. Glad you found one. Might as well give up on ammo for awhile, unless you want to pay gunjoker prices. I'm still sitting on 1600 rounds and don't want to get "too low" on ammo and I've only put 100 rounds through my 5.7.

is the 10year life actually confirmed? I spoke to an FN rep a couple years ago and he thought I was making it up.

Also what happened to SS195? Is it no longer available?

I bought 2 boxes of 195 with my 5.7 2 weeks ago. 08 head stamp though.

Bought 750 rounds of AE stuff from Luckygunner and Natchez last week. Luckygunner shipment got here yesterday and a 3 week wait for 250 from Natchez. Sitting on 2k rounds now and plan to go shooting in a week or 2.

Today at the Dallas Market Hall Gun show I saw 3 or 4 guys selling 197 and 198, 50 round box was marked $125

cough price gouging horders makes you wish you had to be a five seven gun owner to buy the stuff. I can't wait for things to normalize.

Wow,, at these prices and availability I am so glad I started reloading the Five Seven. It's amazing how far a pound of AA7 goes with this round.

Natchez has American eagle 5.7 in stock for $25 a box plus shipping.

Now if I could only find the pistol to go with the ammo.
