The FF3 is brand new. I don't even think there are preproduction reviews out yet, so I wouldn't expect to much in the way of experience here yet.
The FF2 is nice. It doesn't take much to re zero it. Downside is the switch activation. Fine for sporting use, not so much on a defensive gun. Other than that, I like mine a lot. Very fast on the steel plates. |

Docter sights are ~$250 at CDNN and SWFA and have battery life comparable to an Aimpoint (years).

Does it hold its zero as I think you have to remove the docter to change batteries and also are you able to lock it down or do the iron sights get in the way? |

The pins on the mounting plate fit snugly into the holes in the slide and on the bottom of the sight, and the mounting screws are countersunk into the sight so they will tend to align it the same way every time. I don't see the loss of zero being all that significant at ranges you'd be shooting a pistol at compared to those you would shoot a rifle at.

I was going to buy a FastFire until I saw the Docter sights so cheap. One of the main reasons I went with the Docter is because they come in a 7moa dot which I thought would be more useful on a pistol that a smaller moa dot. Edit: I see the FF III is available with an 8moa dot now. |

I have the FF iii and love it. I took off a FF ii. I like the 8moa as I have it also on my c-more. The new cover is pretty cool and is also a sun shade. The adjustments are also much better. The old ones were horrible. The battery is not a 2032 as listed everywhere. it is smaller.
