THE IMAGE ABOVE IS A PAID ADVERTISEMENT
I sent 300 rds down range from my AR24 last Saturday, and I can tell you I had a blast. Not a single hiccup using Federal, WWB, and BB 115grn. This pistol has some wieght that I did not feel any muzzle flip and recoil is next to nothing. The ar24 is the most easiest pistol to point and shoot I have ever fired. I have no problem hitting targets at 25ft and 25yrds in one hand standing. I just wish Armalite will make a 45auto of this model.

How is your point of impact compared to point of aim?

POA at 25FT=2" over bulls eye
POA at 25 yrds = dead center

No kidding.

If you have a micrometer handy, could you do me a favor, and measure your front and rear right heights for me? (just base to top)

Homey, I was thinking the same thing..

I also wonder if he used the exact same sight picture for each distance? Not to mention, if so, which one did he use?

The "bullseye" can look quite different at those two distances (sight wise) if it's a smaller diameter to begin with.

Thanks for the kind words Johnar.

There's just something nice about solid steel in your hand. Never did like the plastic frames, but it's sure hard to compet with the price.

Price doesn't show up at retail. Where it shows up is HUGE dollars for advertising of plastic guns.

AR stands for ArmaLite

Well, I just wish Armalite could actually either tell me:

a) the sight milling specs
b) if I can order a new front sight (last time, it was a "no") so I can fix my POI

Homey, is this the dimension you are looking for to add a different sight if you cannot get a stock factory one from Armalite?

If so, on my gun anyway, the dim (height) from the top tip of front sight (parallel) to the top of the slide is .1455"

Hope this helps...

Thanks for the measurement. What I wanted was your dimensions as a frame of reference, so this is perfect.

Well, yours shoots to point of aim, mine shoots about 3" low with almost every factory ammo and load I have tried. Armalite does not have different front sight posts, sight options, nor the dimensions for the slide cuts, but I could mill down the one on mine to bring the POI up.

In an ideal world, I'd live somewhere where a gunsmith would say "no problems, homey, I'll re-cut the slide to the next standard size and pop in some Novak night sights for you." Since I am in northern VA, the only place with less customer service than East Germany, the best I got was to be told to pound sand.

Sounds like your trigger pull may be dropping your POI. Trigger can drop POI 3 feet @ 25 meters and 3 inches @ 5 meters easy. Try dry firing for a while and get used to the break in SA and DA.
I aim behind the blade up close, and lollipop it in the 20 meter plus range. If you were trained on the M9 it's the same deal.

Agreed - but I think at over 6000 rounds through the pistol my fingers ought to remember ;)

It shoots low from a rest on the bench - actually less so when I shoot by hand.
