Finally got a .22 can. I love it. Runs well with Winchester 42gr hp subs and CCI minimags. Federal however...

I want to get the new Ruger Mk IV Lite so I can put a RMS on top. Last time I had a Ruger 22/45 it cut my thumbs up pretty bad when loading the magazine.

I have had a P22 since 2002, and hopefully my (first rimfire) can gets approved by the end of the year!

The subs really weren't that much quieter than the minimags. I'm assuming the barrel length has something to do with it. There is more of a audible "thump" with the minimags

Yes the short barrel length should keep most all .22 subsonic. The extra thump or change in tone you hear would be the extra gun powder burning up.

Different guns even of the same manufacture will have different tastes in ammo. I have a P22 from the early 2000's like yourself and it runs great on thunderbolt (dirty) and fed bulk pack with the suppressor attached.

Love mine. It's my quietest .22 pistol host. Mark II is my loudest.
