I found this single shot 8" barreled J. Stevens .22lr Off-Hand Target tip-up in a local pawn shop. I gave $150.00 for it.
No finish left but in very sound condition with a nice bore. Locks-up tight. As best as I can tell this one was made between 1916-1939 so I'll only use standard vel. fodder. Other than informal target shooting these single shot tip-ups were very popular with trappers for dispatching animals and for small game getters. It's really all you need for that task.  Attached File Attached FileA homemade holster was included that I had to get up to snuff. It has a ingenious "wedge" sewn into the holster so the button that opens the action slips into thus preventing it from being pushed and opening the action in the holster.
