I found this single shot 8" barreled J. Stevens .22lr Off-Hand Target tip-up in a local pawn shop. I gave $150.00 for it.

No finish left but in very sound condition with a nice bore. Locks-up tight.

As best as I can tell this one was made between 1916-1939 so I'll only use standard vel. fodder.

Other than informal target shooting these single shot tip-ups were very popular with trappers for dispatching animals and for small game getters.
It's really all you need for that task.

A homemade holster was included that I had to get up to snuff.

It has a ingenious "wedge" sewn into the holster so the button that opens the action slips into thus preventing it from being pushed and opening the action in the holster.
