Wondering why they all have a 10 round limit. This ain't the 90's anymore!

It's possible, just much easier to make a rimmed round feed from a single stack.  And you can get higher cap mags or replacement followers that allow higher caps for most .22 pistols and conversions.

Lots of platforms with >10rd mag capacity, for instance Ruger pistols have 25 to 30rd mags, 50 or 100rd drums.  AR pistols with the right adapter can use 175rd or 275rd AM-180 drums.

If you have a 1911 22lr conversion the older metal magazines are out there. I have 2 that each hold 15 rounds of 22

Double Stacks just are not reliable, The closest thing reliable is the PMR 30, but that's 22MAG
Im sure manufacturers dodge double stack, becuase who wants to warranty/buy back the headache

Rim lock is a major issue.  Many .22 LR magazines will stagger the back of the rounds a bit to let them stack flatter and reduce the angle of the round needed to make it harder to lock the rims when loading the magazine,  but they keep the points in line.

Double stack .22LR magazines have to reliably re "zip" the rounds into a single stack just prior to feeding  and that's not easy to do with a high degree of reliability.

It's been done, but as other's pointed out, single stack is easier and more reliable..

PMR 30

Kel-Tec has said that there will never be a .22LR version of the PMR-30, apparently a shorter cartridge makes all the problems associated with rimmed cartridges in box mags much worse.

I have a few mags for my Advantage arms Glock 23 adapter that hold 15 rds and work GREAT and for the Marvel 1911 adapter to .22 for a para ordnance that hold 15 or 20 rounds.

Around 1994 I had some 50 round double stack Ruger mags for my Tec22 (it came with a 30 round double stack) they worked flawlessly.  Have been surprised I haven't seen them for sale anymore.

These were cheap plastic mags, not even the better ones with metal feed lips.  Surly someone can make good ones again?
