I picked this up in a trade. Feels great in the hand. Way better than my mk3 22/45. Anyone else have one? Source of mags? What's the price on these? Mine is from 1973

I paid $47.50 new for mine.  That was a little while ago.  Recently got another which had been greatly neglected.  Top and bottom cannot be separated and was very gunked up but still shot fine and was reliable even before cleaning.

Also try Brownells and Midway.

I'm thinking that is a MK I, just google Ruger MK I magazines and you should turn up a bunch of vendors.

The Ruger Standard became the Mk 1. There are a few differences, but I can't remember them all. I think the big difference is the Standard does not have a bolt hold open lever. Magazines from a Mk 1 or MkII or III will not fit. You will need mags for a Standard.

The mk1 and standard were made at the same time the standard being the field gun and the mk1 being the target version

$37.50 as a kid from 5 cents a bushel potato picking money in about 1960.  One case of Remingtom .22LR 40 RN Golden Bullets #1522 each year after year.  6" one.  Less barky.  At around 100,000 rounds trigger mushy and ejector rivet loosened.  Still worked because bolt guides ejector.  Retired gun.

Fast forward 2013.  Sent to Ruger.  Totally rebuilt and refinished.

New, worn out, and rebuilt:  it does not ever malfunction other than a dead primer every brick or three.  CCI MiniMags still work 100%.  I quit buying Remington after quality tanked 2006-2007.

The picture:  Very accurate, very ergonomic, and the most dependable 22 at any price.  Go ahead.  Try to wear it out.

Mags are simply the nine (9) shot ones.

outstanding pistol

Ruger still sells mags for the Mark I/ Standard, as posted above check Brownells and egunparts.com (Numrich) for mags

aside from taking them apart which is a royal pain in the ass they are great pistols.

A Mark II was my first pistol and as of now I'm up to six Ruger Mark pistols---two Standards, two Mark II's, and two Mark III's.

I might end up picking up another Standard soon since a former co-worker has a family friend that is selling her deceased husband's guns
