[ARCHIVED THREAD] - ruger .22LR mkIII 5 in. barrel aftermarket front & rear sights???

My Ruger mk III sights are giving me fits. Blurry and just problems keeping poi.

Ruger does not make replacements for the shorter tapered barrel which I have.

I've checked around, but haven't found any replacements.

Please help.

Ruger has the front blades for the MKII and MK1 on their site for $2.50.

Get one and cut it for an old school orange insert like an S&W.

If your sights are blurry ( suggesting a visual acuity issue) new sights won't help as much as getting the proper glasses to force your focus to the front sight

You might also try using something to blacken the sights...

The blade location of the design of the stock rear site lends itself to becoming blurry; a rear sight with an flat blade at the rear is much more amenable to a clear sight picture.
