Anybody have a  Browning 1911 in 22 Long Rifle?

Do you like it?

Thanks

I handled one at the 2014 NRA Annual Meeting.  I didn't like it since it was reduced size from a standard 1911, and IIRC cheap metal.

They're aluminum (not Zinc pot metal) and function really well. I've got the commander version w/polymer frame.

Expensive but very nice!

Usually see them at most gun stores for about $500-590 depending on model.

Got mine for $540 out the door from a local shop (1911-22 Black label compact)

The slide is machined from a block of aluminum, not pot metal. I believe there are some polymer framed models now. The only thing I am not crazy about is the guide rod being plastic.

I just picked up a Black Label Compact for my son for Christmas.  It cost me $598 out the door. Browning has 2 separate rebates going on now. One is for a refund on the tax paid, which will be about $56 for me and the other for a free 555 round box of winchester 22. I haven't shot it yet but it seems like a really well made little pistol.

It must've been the light weight that fooled me.  Anyway, glad to hear the good reviews.

My brother in law has one and it is pretty nice. I've shot about 5 magazines through it, all loaded plus 1, and it ran perfectly. Accurate too.

Thanks

I just wonder what a spare would cost if the original broke?
