IS the M&P externally identical tot he 9mm as far as slide dimensions? Looking to have a 22 trainer milled for a Trijicon RMR 01...wondering if this was a suitable platform...

The m&p 22 is a great trainer. But it's hammer fired and there is an open area inside the slide for the hammer to far. No way you can mill it out for that rmr. Dovetail mount maybe. But the extra weight my slow the slide down so it won't cycle
