Pics to be added after I get the gun added to my NY pistol permit (after the holiday weekend)

I went to my regular dealer and he had a few guns I ended up buying.  One is a Llama all steel XV mini 1911 (like) 22 pistol.  Its like 3/4 scale of a normal 1911.  and its solid.  For some strange reason I've been wanting one of these small frame Llama's in either 22LR or 32ACP  This one was $230, and looks brand new - now visible wear on it.  Its a Stoeger marked gun, not interarms - Not sure what vintage it may be.

Looking for a spare magazine under $75, But that will give me something to hunt for at shops and shows.

I have many other 22 pistols, this one was just a long time wish list one.  But I've got to say all steel feels so solid compared to my recent polymer guns.  I do have to say my GSG 1911, walther p22 do shoot all day long without issues, so I guess polymer and aluminum does work - not dissing those in general, but nice to grab a 22 made of steel.

Congrats! they are fun little shooters!

Mine is a 1957 Airlite.  They are about the same size as the browning 1911-22 made today, they are closer to 5/8 scale.

Go over to the spanish pistol boards to find a dating code.  I would guess 1975-1980 based on the stouger  import. Do not dry fire it, unless you want to track down some spare firing pins.  Mine is old and was carried in a truck so the finish on one side isn't the greatest.  Some day I'll redo it.  star mags will work depending on variety, or can be made to work.  I had to modify one that I picked up.

I also have one that is early 70's in 380.  mags for it are harder to find than the 22. They changed the materials around 1975ish through the 80's and were more pot metal and not as reliable.  Hopefully yours is of the older variety.

my 1972 stouger 380.  colt mustang pocketlite for size reference.

I finally posted a pic " />

Its all steel - very heavy for its size.  It looks almost new - I'd like to know the vintage.

I did get a chance to shoot it this weekend. Flawless with CCI minimags - which is all I brought with me.  Will try federal bulk next time out.

The Llama I've been looking for is one in 32ACP with the brown grips.  I never see them around my parts was glad to find one in 22.
One cute item for these is Browning makes a mini vintage style flap holster for their small scale 1911 22.

I don't know why but I like little Star, Astra and Llama pistols.

That looks brand new!! congrats!!!

There should be some proof marks around the trigger guard on the "drivers side".  There will be a letter and a number in between the proof marks.  All spanish pistols use the same proof marks and date codes under spanish law. (llama, star, astra, etc).  If there is no visible marks on the frame around the trigger guard, check under the grip panel.  ones prior to the 1968 import law didn't require the importer to be marked and some had the date stamped on the frame there.

This is from the star site, but gives more detail than just the date.  I would be curious to know as well, as all the black grip llamas i've seen have been newer.

A ton of helpful folks over here also. http://forums.gunboards.com/showthread.php?195631-LLama-Serial-Number-Database-Please-Add-Yours!

Keep looking for a .32 ACP Model XA; they are terrific little pistols.

This one was my first carry gun in a gentler age than we live in now.

Don't know what kind of collector value they have, but that would be a great little host for a can.
