I'm looking for a pistol to keep on me around the ranch and really want something fairly accurate and as reliable as possible. My dad has a p22 and I love it but I would prefer the 1911 frame pistol. How does the sig stack up against the Walther?

If you deside to get the Sig 1911 .22, take a look at the GSG 1911 .22 you'll save 30 to 50 bucks (the Sig is made by GSG)

I would pick the GSG over Walther. Just make sure and get aftermarket guide rod from gsgpro.com or other site

I was looking at the sig over the gsg because I have heard the sig has lifetime warranty and the gsg doesn't. I have thought it over and I think I am gonna go p22 and kimber .22 conversion for my kimber .45. To me that seems likes great way to get both.

I hope the P22 works better for you than it did for me. I had a very disappointing experience with the P22. I had continuous feeding problems with mine, regardless of ammo brand or magazine and eventually got fed up with it and sold it (with full disclosure to the buyer). This was one of the few guns in my life that had confounded me so much that I gave up on it...

As to the Kimber conversion... I have had very good experience with it. It is accurate, reliable and looks good. The sights are better, in my opinion, than those on the GSG series of guns, there is no mag safety to tinker with and the magazines are plentiful, easy to find and cheap, although they are plastic and fail to lock the slide after the last shot... Over all, it is worth the money, if you ask me. I have an old Wilson Combat .22 conversion as well, and it works every bit as well as the Kimber, but magazines are much harder to find and they are made out of aluminum...
