THE IMAGE ABOVE IS A PAID ADVERTISEMENT
I have seen pictures of this model with brown grips, they appear to be wood but I am not sure and I have seen other pictures where the grips are black.
I want the model wih the black grips. Is there a model # difference between the two that I need to tell my local FFL so the correct one gets ordered (local FFL is not the best guy to deal with as he kinda whacked but his prices are great and really the only one around)

The model depicted on on Rugers site has black grips and the catalog # is P45GMK3PRRP model # 10149 Picatinny Rail no sights
So can anyone confirm that this model # would gve me the black grip panels.

Thanks

The model that I have in front of me is 03900, catalog number P45MK3ALRP.
It is the 22/45 LITE with gold upper, threaded muzzle, poly frame, black grips.

Best that I can do right now.

I don't think he is referring to the lite model is he?

They take ordinary 1911 grips you might have to modify them slightly but its made to take them.

Referring to the model directly below Model 10149

This one below is the one I do not want

Serial # is the same on both in pictures so now I am wondering what is going on. Could it be a picture error that is just depicting the same gun one in color and one in black & white?

But here is another picture that clearly shows black grips as an option

Mine came with the black grips. If you get the gun and it comes with wood grips, give me a shout and I'll trade you out on them, I have a houge wrap around on mine right now.

Ruger wanted all of the 22/45's with RP to come with rubber grips from the get go but something came up and they had to have Hogue make them cocobolo grips instead. They are trying to phase out the cocobolo for the Hogue rubber. At least that is what Ruger told me.

I ordered one from Buds and the picture was the brown grips but I got the black ones on the gun the shipped me, if you get the brown I will trade you for my black ones. Gun is brand new never fired so they have no issues. Let me know by PM if you want to trade.

*** sorry just saw someone already offered to trade as well.

The older ones came with wood grip and the newer ones I've seen had black ones.

As far as I know, they started shipping the same model # with the black rubber in place of the nice wood grips a while back.

Both are too thin for me and I went with Houge wraparounds eventually.
