I have a chance to pick up a like new Mk III 5.5" bull barrel and think I can get it for about $250. They are asking $275. I have never liked the looks of the .22/45 but do shoot two 1911's. What to do, get the Mk III I would like because I am used to the looks of it or perhaps try a .22/45 which I am not drawn to? This will be for a range/plinking/hunting/fun/camping gun with perhaps a little competetive shooting thrown in...Thanks....<><....:)

P.S. how much would a good used .22/45 go for if that happens?

Buy the MKIII, buy it now. FWIW, I didn't the think the 22/45 was similiar enough to the 1911 to make it worthwhile.

Thanks, I am teaching a LTC course for the store Sunday afternoon after church and was thinking of picking it up then since it seemed like a good price for an as new bull barrel Mk III. I may just drive there tomorrow and get it a day early. The way my luck runs if I waited another day it might be gone...
Any other opinions or thoughts from those in the know about MK III's?....<><....:)
