THE IMAGE ABOVE IS A PAID ADVERTISEMENT Are there any known issues with these guns that would cause this? The problems are not magazine or ammo specific. We have four mags and many types of ammo. |

Try polishing your feed ramp

High velocity ammo?
Do the mags compress without binding? Does the slide operate without binding? |

I think I found the problem. The slide fits on the frame crooked, and looks like its rubbing in the top of the dust cover area of the frame.
I don't feel any binding or sluggishness, however, I can see how that could slow the slide down. |

I've read about/seen this issue on several forums, and youtube videos.
I've owned a Ruger SR-22 for several months now, with approx. 200 rounds down range. So far, only experienced a single failure to strip a round. Perhaps its the type of ammo you are using? (I'm using CCI "Tactical" .22LR) |

I'm using many types. Blazer, American Eagle HV 38gr copper plated HP, Remington Subsonics, Federal Auto-Match, Winchester and Federal bulk packs.

I think you need to send it back- I bought one a little over a month ago, have put 750 rounds of EVERYTHING through it, without a single malfunction of any kind- way better than I ever expected..

I've fed mine a lot of different ammo and found it doesn't like Federal bulk pack or any low velocity/target loads.
I guess they don't have enough "umph" to cycle the slide completely. Mine has never stove-piped or failed to extract. it just won't feed the next one in every time if the ammo is whimpy. Stick with a high velocity round, keep it lubed, and it will shoot flawlessly until you are sick of it. If you really want to see it run good, shoot some Remington 22 Thunderbolts through it... me likey! Those rounds cycle the slide with authority! enjoy! |

Got it back today, said they "machined the breech block".
No idea what that means. No signs of modifications on the breech block. Lets hope it works! |

Shot it again today. FAIL.
All stoppages were either -failure to strip round from magazine. -failure to chamber due to bullet nose hitting top of chamber opening. |

Yup, I'm having thing same issues as you described, failure to feed problems and the some what often, failure to eject. However, I have NO problems with CCI Mini-mags they run 100%. Blazers, Federal, American Eagle, and Winchester all give me a bunch of the before mentioned problems.
Next time I get a chance to go out I want to tryout filling the mags up to 6 or 8 rounds instead of the full 10. I forgot to do this both the first and second times I used it ![]() |
