No offense, OP, but if you're that close, I'd say its a problem with the shooter rather than the gun. Unless your sight(s) are loose, of course.

no offense taken the sights arent loose i just felt them. i usually shoot really well with 22LR i had a ruger mk 3 and s&w 22a and shot them pretty well. i may just be flinching my follow through or gripping it too tight.

Maybe its just that. I rented an SR-22 the other day and noticed that I felt inclined to flinch for some reason. Its really very comfortable to shoot, but I had to consciously make myself not flinch. That's wierd for me, because I never flinch on any of my own weapons. |

Did you check to make sure the barrel is tight? Apparently, some of the early ones had barrel issues. It would actually loosen up and cause bad accuracy. I'm hoping I can shoot one well because I just got one myself.

Mine shoots a very small group at 12 yards. I am about an inch low and may adjust it next time we shoot. My fiance was popping cans at 25 yards with ease. I was impressed with the accuracy and reliability. 300 rounds with zero malfunctions using federal 40grain 1240 FPS from a 500 round brick.

Check for a loose barrel. Mine was loose and accuracy increased when I tightened it up.

I was very impressed with her shooting. She just started shooting left handed also... She is right handed, but left eye dominant. I actually bought her that pistol so she could get comfortable shooting left handed. Probably going to step her up to a walther pk380 by the end of summer. |

I would suggest trying other ammo.
My SR22 didn't shoot the Federal stuff worth a crap. Mine likes Rem golden bullets and the Winchester bulk pack pretty well. It shoots CCI's like a laser. I'd also try shooting a little closer to get your groups tighter, then try it further. I generally shoot handguns at a self-defense distance of about 15-20 feet. but I do go further out on occasion. I can put all 10 rounds in the size of a half dollar at that distance while standing. I don't know if everyone has had this experience, but my SR22 seems to get more accurate the more I shoot it. Maybe it's me or maybe it's the gun. Not sure, but I like it! Loving my SR22!!! |
