I'm wondering this myself. I asked the same question awhile ago and never really got an answer. They certainly are inexpensive. I know there was a problem with the first run of them but CProducts was suppose to have fixed the issue.

They have not had very good reviews so far.  Chad from CProducts gave out a couple that were passed around to a lot of us and the reviews that came back were less than promising.  I kinda want to get one since they supposedly re-adjusted everything, but considering how important the magazine is to any semi-auto weapon it wouldn't be smart to rely on one.

Buy once, cry once.  Buy some Wilsons.

EDIT: Damn, I took so long typing SGB beat me

In about 20 years, I may decide to look at C Product's track record. In the mean time, there are several reliable magazines that already have that kind of history. I'd rather buy something proven. Then again, I don't buy their AR-15 magazines for the same reason.

As my .45s are for personal defense, I stick with top quality. Chip McCormicks or Wilsons are my choice. Meg-Gar made the ones I got with my SIG GSRs and I've had no problem with them, either.

There AR mags are good but I'm not a fan of the 1911 mags.  I pretty much stick with the Wilson Combat's or the Mec-Gar.  I wish the Mec-Gar mags still came with the Kimbers.  I'm not to high on the Chip McCormicks also.

I bought a couple of the C-Products stainless 8 rounders from Palmetto State Armory in Feb or March, and they've been flawless in my TRP , they function just as good as the factory mags. I'm very pleased with them. I can't say that about the McCormick 8 rounder I have.

Sent, thanks. I tried to order a couple from Palmetto a couple of months ago and found them out of stock.

I bought two from AIM a few months ago. I'm not very thrilled with them though. The first one had the base plate fall of while I was shooting. I use them for practice. They do cycle fine, it's just that I don't want to be picking up LOADED shells at the range.

I've got two black ones that I picked up at the 2010 shot show.  They don't fit in either of my Kimbers, or my Colt.  They won't take more than two rounds before they hang up.  I didn't spend much, so I figured I wasn't out much.

That was my experience with my T&E black one as well.

The stainless one has been good, so far.

Chad,

How do your mags work in RIA 1911s. I have been very hit and miss with only having a GI and ACT-MAGs work.

Yeah I want a real 1911 like a TRP, but I think that will be my wedding present; so please don't laugh.

I just don't feel there is any going back to trust a product once that trust has been exhausted. Two of your black magazines have had their time in my Ed Brown. In my book, my time was wasted, and will never be recovered. Not to mention an unpleasant time that day at the range.

I was originally told that those mags were widely tested and proven. In my case, they were not. My experience was the definitive testing. Wild horses couldn't convince me otherwise.

I would like to give them a try.  I have several Colt GM's and GI guns that I will use them in, and give you a report.  IM sent, thank you.

Two things:

1.  Every product deserves a second chance.  If we kept the same impression of Dan Wesson pistols that we had a few years ago no one here would have V-Bobs and Valors, and that would be a shame.
2.  Every person deserves the right to their opinion.  SGB has every right to say that he doesn't feel like spending $100 of his own money on ammo to test a $15 magazine that he got for free.  If you really care that much, send him $100 in ammo and your magazine.

Since I want to give you another chance and since I don't mind spending money to test a cheap magazine, IM sent.

The problem I saw was the link didn't work. I got no return notification so do you still want an IM or did you get mail?

I have had great luck with CProducts mags in my AR,I would be interested in doing some T&E on one of these mags if you would send me one.

I'll be buying a few eventually. I've had nothing but good experiences with C-product mags in my ARs. I know 1911s are a different breed of production, but I am comfortable risking less than 40 bucks for a couple mags.

My only question is- what type of follower is in place? some of my 1911s get really picky on what hollowpoints they will and wont feed depending on the follower.

I bought some black CPRoducts 1911 mags (3 of them) after they first came out.  I bought them direct from CProducts if I remember correctly.  When I received them, I took them directly out of the box, I inserted them into my Kimber Warrior and they stuck hard, they were very hard to even pull them out of the magazine well.  I then pushed the follower down with my finger and the follower would stick down in the magzine body.  This was the case with all 3 magazines, so I didn't even get to the range with them.  I sent all of the magazines back for a refund and it took a VERY long time to get my money back, I mean it was like nearly 2 months or more.  So, even though I have heard very good things about CProducts AR mags, I think I'll stick with my Tripp, Wilson and McCormick 1911 mags, they've been 100%

They sent me one to T&E in response to another thread in July of last year.  The follower kept getting stuck and while it would feed, there was definitely something wrong.

One of the principals of the company (I don't know if his name is public like Larry's) wrote back saying that they loved the coating but needed to make changes to the follower to accommodate it.  He ended his e-mail with:
I would like to get these changes in place and send you another magazine for your evaluation. Thanks for your understanding and help.

I know life gets busy and things slip through the cracks, so once a month until December, I'd write a short note of inquiry.  I never received another response, nor another magazine.
