So being honest, I haven’t kept up on the last fourteen-odd years of this thread, no longer own any form of MEU(SOC) .45 (or currently any 1911s for that matter, though that will be changing again this week—found a MAC “JSOC” on sale and decided it was time to jump back in) and haven’t read the last 60+ pages of this thread… so forgive me if what I’m posting has already been said, but I thought it would be useful / interesting information to some:







Surefire LM2-B-BK 600 Lumen Upgrade Module

Trajectory Arms 628LFA Scout Conversion Module

Was messing around with some old gear to do a potential “Retro-Mod” gun that doesn’t significantly lose “fighting” capability to a more modern pistol and wanted to see if the Laser Products (Surefire) 610R could be made to be more “functional.”

I was aware of the Malkoff conversions, and I understand that some people have been putting LED heads from airsoft copies () in them, but for what may be obvious reasons, not only did I want to try to up the output in general, I was also interested in trying to get some IR capability out of it if possible.

I managed to find two other update / “conversion” modules that were intended for the 600-series Surefire fore ends that I went ahead and bought to test out and pleasantly found that not only were they compatible (as expected—but you never know until you try…) with the old 6v Classic Weapon Light that I wisely chose to hang on to, even after selling all my 1911s and most of the related gear, but also seem to preserve the form-factor well enough to be compatible with the old Safariland “Colt 6v” 6004 holster (will confirm this week), allowing me to [mostly] preserve my preferred “duty” carry setup.

Anyways, thought it would be interesting and semi-relevant information to anyone that had / was rocking one of these old 610R / 310R setups and wanted an easy update option to get a little bit more modern performance from time to time (can easily be swapped back to “clone correct” configuration).

The Trajectory Arms module is particularly exciting to me, since it allows the mounting of a KM2 6v Vampire head, giving me both IR and white light capabilities—now just have to see if I can find an old set of Crimson Trace IR laser grips!
