5 just seems like an odd number to save or to be left with.

Weren't they issued to special security forces (Reaction Teams I think).  Would they likely have a smaller number?

I know nothing about USMC just remember reading that.

Yes, I've seen pictures of MP SWAT units with them, FAST had them, and of course Raiders/Recon

MP SRT ( SWAT - ish) was issued them. In some of the smaller bases it wouldnt be unheard of to have a low amount, although 5 seems really low.

ETA - I got beat, sorry for the repeat

Fwiw I was in security forces and I really can't imagine 5 guns covering anything, in terms of shifts. It's like they took some but left a token 5.

Do they all carry the same sidearm and ready to go in that size of a group?  Asking because I really don't know.

Cool pic repost from SRT just because.

SRT got them, Recon got them, the MP school got them because whoever wrote the fielding plan didn't realize that the Marine Det at Leonard Wood doesn't run the school for the SRT guys-the Army does.

Interesting one on GB.

Would be cool to have some blank copies of those PWS checklists it comes with.

I don't think the listing is correct in saying that was the last one built at PWS.  This thread and another group had the last one built posted, and it was serial # MC757. The one in the listing is very close to the last one built.

He also says in the comments that there are 3 documented PWS built guns in civilian hands. The listing claims there’s only one.

Thanks for the links/info.

Yeah, I was thinking I don't know how much value I would add for that claim, but doesn't seem like a bad deal either way.

Definitely a dubious claim on an otherwise very nice gun.

And just so I actually contribute, here’s my Valor Precision built gun. Couldn’t be happier with his work, i think he did a fantastic job.

The way I read the add, it sounds like it was built after hours by a 2112, not for use in a team. I’ve read that the 2112 could purchase the parts at cost and practice their trade on their time. Still a good price if it sells for that. I’d love to have it, not in the position to come up with that money tomorrow.

Everyone has their threshold for what is rare and what is a correct one, but to think that there aren’t hundreds of 2112 built-in-PWS guns would be a stretch. The one in the auction looks great and would be a great addition to anyone’s collection.

His was absolutely was not the last one built at PWS.

I know a handful of builds after that one.  I have one built after his and I'm sure more were built after mine too.  I know some were built for retirement packages or gifts for certain people by PWS.

I have one built by Shawn Schumacker at PWS that was a couple years after his.   It has both types of slides they used on the M45.  The Springfield and the much rarer USMC and EGA marked Caspian slide.

I have only seen a couple of these Caspian USMC slides in use by the Marines.

Here is serial MC 766

Wow!  I guess that's not so crazy for an all correct parts, documented gun though.

I should have not posted this and just sniped it for $2500, with no bids.

Surefire LM2-B-BK 600 Lumen Upgrade Module

Trajectory Arms 628LFA Scout Conversion Module

Was messing around with some old gear to do a potential “Retro-Mod” gun that doesn’t significantly lose “fighting” capability to a more modern pistol and wanted to see if the Laser Products (Surefire) 610R could be made to be more “functional.”

I was aware of the Malkoff conversions, and I understand that some people have been putting LED heads from airsoft copies () in them, but for what may be obvious reasons, not only did I want to try to up the output in general, I was also interested in trying to get some IR capability out of it if possible.

I managed to find two other update / “conversion” modules that were intended for the 600-series Surefire fore ends that I went ahead and bought to test out and pleasantly found that not only were they compatible (as expected—but you never know until you try…) with the old 6v Classic Weapon Light that I wisely chose to hang on to, even after selling all my 1911s and most of the related gear, but also seem to preserve the form-factor well enough to be compatible with the old Safariland “Colt 6v” 6004 holster (will confirm this week), allowing me to [mostly] preserve my preferred “duty” carry setup.

Anyways, thought it would be interesting and semi-relevant information to anyone that had / was rocking one of these old 610R / 310R setups and wanted an easy update option to get a little bit more modern performance from time to time (can easily be swapped back to “clone correct” configuration).

The Trajectory Arms module is particularly exciting to me, since it allows the mounting of a KM2 6v Vampire head, giving me both IR and white light capabilities—now just have to see if I can find an old set of Crimson Trace IR laser grips!

Yeah, me too.

9 volts (from 3x CR123A or 3x16340 rechargeables for 12v) and 1100 lumens out, out of a M951 with an Overready 1 cell extender, and a Malkoff M91:

My Desert Warrior has been wearing an X300 for quite a while (and it had a X200 on it, when they were both the "new" thing 20 years ago.

It’s good to hear Shawn’s name mentioned here.  I’ve got two 1911’s that Shawn built for me. Unfortunately, neither is a MEU SOC model. One is a Rock Island Arsenal 1911 that he turned into a real tack driver and the other is a Caspian 1911 frame and slide that he completed. My other rifle that he built for me is a copy of the M40A5.  I gave him a Remington 700 receiver and he put it together.  Oh, he also built a designated marksman M14 for me on a Fulton Armory receiver. I've got a MEU SOC 1911 that one of the PWS 2112’s built for me, however, it was so long ago that I’ve forgotten his name. He may still be on ARF, one of the really good guys.

Damn, I wasn't a fan of the Combat Limited last year, but this thing is badass.

If it was like last year they did an IG announcement and all 25 would have sold within minutes.
