My first 1911 in awhile, a Citadel 9mm. Other than having more sharp edges than I like, it's pretty nice. Any discoloration in the finish is from rubbing grease into the parkerizing, as it was pretty dirty and dry when I bought it from the original owner. Going to shoot it on Sunday, can't wait.

I've been thinking about picking one of these up for a for while, so finally pushed the button recently.   This has been a fine shooter with no issues aside from some cycling problems during the first 100 or so rounds.

It looks good, doesn't it?  I sent the pistol back to Springfield to have the slide and barrel melonited.

If I remember correctly, $165 plus shipping.  They of course could not melonite the frame.

Holding up well, but I only have about 400 rounds on it since the refinish.

Springfield Loaded Parkerized with:

  • Ed brown blued Rebuilt kit (all pins etc changed)

  • Ed Brown Flat MS housing with magwell

  • Wilson Combat Flat wire recoil kit with guide rod

  • Wilson Combat G10 Grips

Took it in on trade.  The only thing I'm not 100% on are the grips.  Debating on changing them out for some VZs.  Unsure at this point.  Everything else, I love about this 1911.
