I own 98.

Picked up my RIA 10mm 1911 parts from my Cerakote guy yesterday. The colors are Sniper Grey for the frame, beavertail, and main spring housing. Graphite black for everything else.

I bought this gun a few years ago just before RIA switched to the small logo on the slide, so mine had the huge billboard, which was the main impetus for doing the Cerakote. I used a surface plate and some sandpaper to sand the sides of the slide smooth and remove the billboard, it was probably laser engraved, it was very shallow.

Parts include

Caspian Flat Trigger
Ed Brown Thumb Safety
Ed Brown Chainlink II Mainspring Housing
EGW Flat Firing Pin Stop
22lb Recoil Spring
Merpolight Night Sights
Magpul MOE Grips

I cut the barrel down close to flush with the slide and gave it a 30º crown. I blended in the grip safety and MSH a little better. And I gave the slide and frame a very light dehorn on the edges.

Commander that I did in coyote AlumahydeII years ago.  Had a gunsmith do the sights.  Bought a Surefire adapter and had a buddy mill it short enough to put on my commander frame.

So Baercote doesn't hold up very well to be dropped on a granite counter top then falling into the floor. Oh, and I put on new grips too...

1. That sucks I'd be pissed
2. I also like the look of wear and tear so it's also cool looking
3. That's a bad ass gun right there.

1&2 - Eh, it was far from pristine anyway, and I like that it looks used too.
3 - Thanks, I really dig it.

Oh my.  I rarely get excited over other peoples guns but dude, this one is super nice.  I've got a soft spot for blueing.  But what gets me even more is the blend on the front strap and the rounded edges on the bottom of the frame.  That's a beautiful 1911 in my eyes.   Just looks....  RIGHT.

Having Dan Wesson build me a pistol to my specs. I have a specialist and love it. When I questioned them about doing a "custom" they assured me it would be built 100 percent in their custom shop and with much better fit and finish than their production guns (which I think the production guns are incredible). I'm super excited for it and they sent me a quick pic of it disassembled before being sent out for duty treatment.

Here's some of the things I had asked for I feel like I'm forgetting some.

°Threaded, ramped match barrel/and unthreaded barrel
°Flat faced trigger
°Discretion sights
°Flat spring plug (non checkered)
°Black Cherry VZ grips
°Thick bushing
°Tight fit frame/slide
°1 piece magwell (blend)
°Melonite entire pistol inside/outside
°Blacken hammer
°Blacken trigger (cerakoted 10-8 flat faced trigger)
°All tool steel internals
°Slide stop countersunk and flattened
°Ribbed top of slide
°Rail cut flush with ball cuts
°3.5-4lbs trigger pull

Keith over at DW has been very accommodating and helpful. Can't speak highly enough about this process with them. Initially I was going to contact Wilson or NH to have a pistol built but I figured why not send DW an email. They assured me a pistol built in their custom shop  would not be similar to the production specialists/valors (which I think are fantastic pistols).  That started the ball rolling and so far I have zero regrets.

This gun Looks perfect to me ( I probably don't want to know how much it cost or how long it took!)
The key features that stand out lack of a mag well ( hate them!) and a short trigger ( love them!)
A simple classic look that I imagine will
Shoot as good as it looks!
