I would post pics of my govt, but it ain't Purdy now. Just got it back from the smith, and the front sight is scratched and crooked, the rear area around the sight is scratched, the top of the slide is scratched, and I have an idiot scratch visible only when the slide is locked open. I can clean it up myself. The new sights really helped my shot. I keep telling myself that. I would take it back, but that is like handing back food to the teenager with the attitude at the drive through burger joint when they fuck up your order.

I want the front strap checkered, and a dehorning. Any suggestions?

My Springfield Mil-spec. Bought it a few years back and had work done slowly over time. Most recently had the frontstrap checkered, trigger-guard undercut, and the whole thing cerakoted in graphite black. In hindsight, buying a TRP or something would have been wiser, wallet-wise.

Colt 1991 I got as a wedding gift 8 years ago.  Before that my dad carried it in stock form as a UC officer.(in stock form at a time when Glock meant cop)  I have done a lot of work to it(safety, trigger, grip safety, magwell, grips, action job, etc.)and it's a pretty sweet shooter.  Using it in a USPSA match Tuesday.  The next addition will be new sights.

Yours is the only Classic Custom that I recall seeing around here. And like mine, I see your slide has turned purple. No idea how old mine is as I bought it (well) used in 05.

Just got me this one (photo not mine).

1944 Ithaca with Remington Rand slide - arsenal rebuild.
I'm told it looks even better in person.

My first, 'original' 1911A1

Reposting due to stupid Photobucket.

My Colt Officers Match set:

Just some buffalo horn grips from Spresser.  I carried the "Officers" config on July 4th because 'Murcia!

Here's the rest of my Colt 1911's:

I also have a numbers matching '43 Rand, a TRP, and a Remington Enhanced Threaded.
