I ended up getting a Wilson Combat summer comfort clone. Looks good. I just hope it's well made with good leather.

My money order and ffl info arrived today so I should get the gun next week

Has anybody tried Wilson's summer companion?

I have one, and I don't really like it, but I just don't care for that style of holster.

I like my Tucker holster.

And of course, I have to have my Texas approved holster.

How's the leather and construction? I prefer the style but that's just personal preferences.

It's a well made holster, it's just the leather is really stiff on it, and the outside is a little rough. It's good for keeping the holster from sliding around, but I was carrying with it at work, and it might just be a combination of sweating, how much I walk, and it being a stiff, rough holster, but by about 3:00 it had rubbed my leg about raw. But for just out and about where there's not a lot of physical activity it's a fine holster and gives me a little bit faster draw than my Tucker does.

That sounds perfect thanks.

I normally order rough side out horsehide.

Just picked up a shark lined OWB leather holster from Warbird holsters. it's beautifully crafted and not much more money than some of the kydex I've bought before. Trying it out this afternoon

don't have a pic of it but I carry a commander light weight in a Bianchi IWB Model 6, it's my second one
first one started as a full length holster that's been cut down to a 3 inch after 30 years and have been wearing my new one about 2 years now. It's simple, comfortable, hangs where I put it. only dropped a gun once because it was poorly seated...

I'll contribute.

Normally for winter I'll carry my full size Wilson Protector with 45ACP 230gr Ranger T's

No pics. I carry a fairly stock Colt  .45 Government Model C series made in 1969 in a old Galco NSA IWB holster. Depending on where I am going I carry a single spare mag in a Galco snap on/off mag pouch or a Kramer  horse hide double mag pouch. My belt is a Kramer horse hide as well. Carry ammo is Fiocchi 230 gr JHP's in Wilson mags. I used to work at a gunshop and tried many different loads and my Colt likes the Fiocchi's best.

I have a first year production Colt Officer's Model that I bought used that has had some work done to it by a local gunsmith that has since passed away. I tried carrying it in a Galco NSA sized for the Officers but it  is nose heavy and drops in my pants. The 5" pistol carries better. I have even Mexican carried it for quick runs  to get a pizza and she stays put.

I have a SA Loaded Champion that I'd like to try but I need new leather for that one.

I'm thinking of buying a Ruger or Colt LW Commander in 9mm for Summer carry and the cheaper to shoot cartridge. Probably load it with Federal 9BP. That stuff shoots really well out of my Hi Power.

Holster is TT Gunleather. Shark skin mag holder is an old one from Rafter S. Had it close to 20 years. I don't believe the company exists anymore.

Here are mine.  Probably one of the best carry pistols made - period (I'm biased).  Colt Series 70 CCO Gunsite model (Officer lightweight frame, Commander slide) in a Milt Sparks Summer Special II.

Picked up a IWB from JM Custom Kydex. I'm not sure about it yet. I will likely end up with a VMII eventually like everyone else.

Great pics and suggestions guys. I've been carrying mine in the Wilson holster with a DSG alpha mag pouch since I got it, I think on the 4th. I love it. I'll post pic tomorrow.

I shave a JM custom aiwb holster on order. Should be here next month.

Most of the time I carry OWB in the Tucker. When I carry IWB it's in a horsehide Crossbreed.

I've been carrying this since I got it. The holster is from Wilson. That mag pouch is a DSG alpha with Raven qrs. The knife is a Spyderco h1. If you spend time around salt water buy that knife. It was in my pocket the last 3 years as a commercial lobsterman. It's been swimming in the ocean multiple times and never got rinsed off.

Since I got this gun I've put 1k rounds through it with 3 failure to feeds from cheap cmp mags but I may have fixed with a few mods.

Last week I was doing double taps as fast as I could with holes within an inch at 25 yards. I was amazed. Let's just say I love this gun. I regret the 1911 sabbatical I took.
