When I bought my MC operator, it came with a coupon for something like 30-50% off of specific items. I used it to pick up 5 more mags from Springfield. All of them have performed flawlessly.

I don't know specifically for springfield, but Wilson combat mags are awesome.

McCormick, Tripp, and Wilson. Personally, I use McCormick Power Mag tubes with Tripp Super 7 guts as they have worked very well for me for a number of years.

I bought a bunch of Springfield mags on sale for about $14, they are the 7rnd gi style, they are the smoothest mag I've ever used. I also have really good luck with Chip McCormick power mags. Bought one McCormick shooting star that jammed.

I have Randall(no longer made), Pachmayr, Checkmate, and Wilson 47D's.  I think all are now 8 round and run flawlessly except for locking the slide open.  Seems like I'm forgetting a brand but I'm too lazy to go digging thru mags to see.  I also have Wilson and Checkmate(I think) 10 round .38 super mags that run the same as the .45's.

ETA - The other brand of mags I have is Metalform.

Wilson 47D and 10rd Bureaucrat for all my 1911's.  I've beat them up in training and competitions with no hiccups or bobbles.  They are reliable.

I have 25, 8rd magazines divided into carry/training for three carry guns; including one I qualify with as a duty gun.  I number them with a Sharpie when I clean and inspect them.  I did exchange two with Wilson a few years ago  - no questions asked.

I "abuse" my five, 10rd magazines the most.  I leave them loaded, partially loaded in my bag between matches.  All have original springs and followers.  I bought them in the mid 90's during the AWB - They keep on running!

I like Wilson magazines

Wilson Combat ETM's for most of my 8 rounders.  CMC Power 10+ for my 10 rounders.

I have yet to find a good mag, but then I haven't really bought a shit load either.

The two sig mags that came with my shit fail to feed regularly.

My kimber promag can't ever feed from slide lock for some fucking reason.

My CMC match mags feed flawlessly but are extremely inconsistent in creating slide-lock.

Wilson Combats are next on my list.

For the win.

I've had problems with CMC. Tried the brownells brand when they were on sale for stupid cheap, didnt like the convex follower, the rest of the mag reminded me of CMC.

Tripp, Wilson ETM, Metalform Elites, CMC,

I would pass on the Wilson 47d, unless you want to purchase some Wolff extra power magazine springs from the start.

WC 47Ds won't lock my slide on empty, feed fine.
CMC Powermags run flawless, 8 & 10 rnd varieties, but I have cracked a basepad on a 8, and slammed a ten home hard enough the lips spread and it locked the gun tight.
OEM mag had no issues.
NIW GI surplus has no issues will ball or similar.
Cheap gun store mags feed but don't lock the slide.
Still need to try some Tripps and ETMs.

I shoot USPSA Single Stack.  I treat my mags like red-headed step kids.  I MIGHT clean them after six matches or so.  I use Wilson ETM + mags with the flat wire spring in my TRP and I've never had any issues.

Tripp Super 7s and Checkmate with the hybrid feed lips. I upgrade the springs to 11 pounders in the Checkmates. My pistol will feed hollowpoints from GI mags, but the cycle is WAY  smoother with the hybrid lips.

I have mostly 7-rounders and perhaps 4-5 eight rounders. All have been flawless. They include SA, Remington, ACT, Mec-Gar, Wilson Combat Service Mag Plus (made by Checkmate), CMC Shooting Star with Tripp Super-7 Upgrade Kit, Dan Wesson, Checkmate, and whoever Colt uses. I believe that's about it.

I don't trust 8 rounders; all mine are sevens. What has worked for me? Colt (Made by both Checkmate and Metalform,) both of those under their own brand, Wilson, Tripp, Mec-Gar, and any genuine GI mag. When I say "genuine," I mean look closely at them. A real GI mag will have hybrid feedlips. I have seen Chines knockoffs in the package that on opening have wadcutter feedlips. They are jam-prone, and complete garbage. Most of the ones I have (except for some WWII ones) are made by Checkmate.

8 rd Wilson and CMC Power Mags for me. I haven't tried Tripps, but I don't see how they could work any better than perfect. I'll pick up a few eventually anyway...can never have too many mags.

I prefer the CMCs over Wilson 47Ds. They are both reliable, and the CMCs are easier to seat against a closed slide. I've never heard of anyone wearing out a CMC follower, but the plastic Wilson followers will wear out eventually.

I was using mostly Wilson mags for my Operator and they have worked without any issues. I started buying the CMC Power mags as they are cheaper. No issues with them and both brands stand up to some decent abuse.

I was more trying to point folks to the model of Checkmates that have worked well for me.  Do you have a link to these 9 dollar mags that you prefer?

Does anybody know who makes Springfield OEM mags, like the 7 round blued ones? I think I heard checkmate or metal form, but can't remember. Can't find a mag that looks like it on the metal form sight.

I've run a couple of different Wilson's in my LW Champion Operator. Both 47Ds and ETMs. Work without a hitch, just pricey.

Just shot 100 rounds through each of the 5 I bought in my Les Baer TRS, Zero issues.  I'll probably order another 5-10.
